Screws are a bit tight because of the plastic but dont mind applying pressure.
Each serves it's own purpose whether it's pressure optimized, air flow optimized, or set in the middle, as the names inform us on. But the biggest improvements come with the changes to build quality and looks. These fans now have rubber mounts so they do not ad vibration noise to your case, and the general aesthetic has improved a lot. I like how Cooler Master selflessly decided to not brand these fans and give them a plain black look, many other fans lose their good looks due to a branded sticker in the middle. But, by not doing so I think it will make these fans more appealing to the average consumer, and allows these fans to match in almost every build.
These fans are not the best performing or the quietest, especially when compared to the likes of the Noctuas NF series or Corsairs ML series, although you pay a premium with those fans, however, they are very good for the price and with PWM control can operate near silent at low RPM. I am using 3 of these in my server and they are doing a great job keeping my hard drives and case at a low temperature. So if you are looking for good mid-range PWM case fan these are a great choice, I highly recommend them!
If I was to build a new computer and wanted the blue LED again this would be part of the build.
The pictures were just to show how it looks in pair, and the second pic to show how much light it gives off in a near black room.
Spring a few extra bucks for a Noctua NF-F12 or a gentle typhoon if you can find them for a good price. This fan is unacceptably loud, louder than all my other fans combined. If you're building a custom loop steer completely clear of thse fans, they aren't worth it. If you're just needing a new CPU fan or a replacement or something and aren't concerned about being able to hear your PC fans then these will do fine. As for actual performance, at maximum RPM (just over 2500) these didn't cool as well as my noctua NF-F12 at 1500 RPM. Cooler Master claims they put out more pressure and more air, but something's not adding up and they just don't performance as well as I expected. There's audible motor whirr at anything about 50% power, like someone humming, which I find really annoying. The vibration isolation is pathetic, and doesn't seem to do anything, my vote for this goes to Arctic cooling's F8 series, had one of those once as an exhaust fan and it was amazing but it's an airflow fan, not a radiator fan. my noctua also has some rubber for noise isolation that seems to work a lot better than these things on the CM fans.
Air flow is absolutely terrific! And it's very quiet even at highest the fastest settings.
I highly recommend the Megaflow for when you need a 200m fan. Comes with red LED, blue LED or plain black with no lights - so there's the basics covered in terms of aesthetics to match your system.
