For this product, instead of coiling up a whole bunch of line inside the head, you put individual pieces in. Loading them is extremely easy and only takes a couple seconds. I was concerned about having to constantly stop to replace the line on this trimmer head but I can do my whole yard (1/4 acre with lots of fence and brick edging) with about 3 pieces of line, meaning that I only have to stop it twice for my yard. In the past, I was stopping 4 or 5 times to disassemble the head and un-tangle the line.
Also, the straight head is much easier to use than the curved head. With the curved one, you have to stand too close to the wall where you're trimming, making it awkward. This thing has a very long reach so you can stand way back while trimming.
One possible con is that the pre-cut pieces of line are more expensive than buying a spool. But you can buy your own spool and cut it yourself and save a lot of money.
