This is perhaps the quirkiest in the series, taking the franchise in a new direction. There are flashbacks to a previous film, but knowledge of past films are not necessary, its a grindhouse. We watch it for hot girls with guns talking tough, heads getting cut off, and the explosions.
Great with popcorn.
Parental Guide: F-bombs. No nudity. 3D sex scene with Amber Heard.
This sadly mangles the story and plot as well as character motivations and unnecessary twists (and there ARE a lot). As much as Rodriguez wants to make good use of less money and yet make it appear like there's more on screen, this time around, it feels like there's less scope, less action and less coherence to the whole. The returning characters have nice touches but get wasted opportunities to have more flesh to their auras. The direction is good but stiff and a bit unfocused. At times, it's hard to tell if Rodriguez wants to blow stuff up Michael Bay style or if he's trying to stay true to his "Grindhouse/Planet Terror" roots. That endanger the movie as it takes a turn for the truly ridiculous in the third act, almost laughing at its predecessor for being so... "serious".
That's what was fun about the first Machete: it took itself slightly seriously, had loads of Rodriguez-patented humor, good action and great overall fun to be had. The sequel, sadly, carries almost none of that. Plot points merely serve to have Machete move along as he's being forced into scenes rather than act upon his own design. A few sci-fi elements are added, until it becomes too much, leaving the door way opened for a third (and hopefully final) Machete Kills Again... In Space. (yes you read correctly).
I would have liked for Machete to have stayed true to his more mundane and less ambitious roots.
the action and killing is so hilarious, if you can’t feel entertainment coming on while watching this, you're dead,
I remember the movie 300. with all it’s decapitating and dismembering of body parts, this was way funnier,
“Danny Trejo” you got to love the guy, he always give you his all, “Amber Heard” I do wish I had my 3-D glasses,
I think it would’ve broke anyway, after that scene, what an insult to all the other people who have played President
in movies, to cast Charlie Sheen” as such, wonder what kind of Prime Minster he would make, for us, Ha Ha. don’t laugh,
here I go again, anytime someone wright a review about a movie, it is open for discussion by anyone, so if people don’t
like the way I talk about their review, don’t wright it, once you say it you leave yourself open to anything,
because if you tell someone to buy this movie, sometimes I do too, so if you’re a spoke-person for this product, you better
believe you’re going to hear about it, and if Amazon don’t like it, they better change their format, all they do is SELL.
and Nothing else, trying to tell others, not to vote on peoples review, is like having Sex with the whole neighborhood,
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT....

You have to be a fan and if you are it's fun. Original idea for it is contained in the 'trailers' of 'Grindhouse' . Typical RodriguesPublished 12 months ago by tom raterman
