The problems with this joystick though are the button placements and the force springs. What they consider the alternate mode button they put way off in the middle of nowhere in the back. You can see it all alone in the picture. It's so far away that you either have to really stretch or take your hand off the joystick and use 2 hands so that you can use it with the 2 buttons ahead of the throttle. They missed the perfect opportunity here to use a pinky switch like many other sticks do. The second major issue has to do with the force springs centering the stick and rudder. They are both WAY too strong. Instead of being able to make small, precise, controlled movements using light pressures you always have to have a death grip on the stick, especially when using the rudder. This is a major problem when playing helicopter flight sims as there is a lot of rudder work involved. The springs are strong enough that sometimes the entire joystick has to be held down so that it doesn't move, which is a problem as I still use it with my old Saitek x52 throttle. What I liked about this stick though is the dual throttles, the customizeability and that it generally had more buttons than most sticks. It's also nice that it can fold up and disassemble for easy travel.

When I first got this stick I loved it. It felt amazing, was responsive, and i had no complaints. If not for the broken button (button 3) that mine got after only having it for 2 months and a few days with medium usage ( just used for elite dangerous ) , it would be a great stick. I just sent a ticket to Mad Catz to hopefully get a replacement unit, and depending on how that goes, this review might change.

Pros.
Feels Great, adjustable, can fit any hand, and amazing price to performance ratio for a hotas.

Cons.
Button broke after only 2 months of usage, dead zone slightly larger than would have liked.

Other thoughts
The button on mine breaking appears to be a manufacturing defect, so while besides the button breaking this is a great stick. I would however say that if you have the money, a saitek x55 rhino might be a better option, especially for durability sake (though it is much more expensive).

So day 1 review. Shipping was one day, ontime from what was estimated. Packaging was solid. Product was easy to assemble, and for my PC it was fully ready to PnP with Elite Dangerous.

Some cons i have. The stick shrinks down when in operation, have to tighten the screws really good to ensure that doesn't happen.

Thats it so far. Will update further when i have more experience with it.

Day 90: Button 2 Broke on me. I lowered the review to 1 star very dissapointed. I have had cheaper sticks back when a Serial ATA was the thing before USB and it lasted years. 3 months? seriously??? And now I can't get a refund. Will be consulting on this.

It looks pretty awesome, but the good points end there. While it does have a good many of buttons, they're awfully placed. The four buttons you see outside of the hat switch are not very easily pushed, and can't be pushed at all if your thumb hits them at the wrong angle.

There's a scrolling button below the hat switch, but you better not set it to anything important because it is very easy to accidentally roll when you are using the hat switch.

The worst part is the main spring, which is WAY too strong. This controller may be great for flying heavy large aircraft with slow movements, but anyone trying to fly quick, arcade type shooters or even dogfights will find the stiffness too much. I feel like I'm fighting the controller itself.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I had to return my FLY 5 flight stick because the trigger button became stuck on fire within 5 minutes of it coming out of the box. I personally don't have much of a problem with a random product defect. I realize that some products just manually fail, whatever. However, it did give me a chance to return the product, so I guess it was a blessing, in a way.

First one had #2 button break within 2 months of normal use. They quickly sent a replacement. Didnt use the replacement for a year, took it out of the box and the twist broke within 1 month. Remapped with vJoy software to bypass, and then the actual base has a metal rod, which slid out. Trying to put it back in place resulted in the very poor quality soldering breaking. Eventully gave up trying to repair it and bought a CH Fighter stick. Will never go back. CH is so much more precise.
If you took the design of this stick, and the quality of CH, you would have the perfect joystick.
Awesome concept, terrible quality. DO NOT BUY.

Very high quality joystick. Pc detects eighth away and works with all the games I've tried with it. Only con would be, as with most joysticks, the spring retract to middle is too strong leaving it hard to maneuver smoothly in most simulators. Would be nice to remove the spring given the option with all the other adjustments this can do.

Similarly to the other review I have seen here, it worked fine for a couple of months, then progressively (and rapidly) degraded the responsiveness until completely gone (all the axes).

Nice looking but seems to be affected by engineering design flaws that severely curtail durability.
