Product Description

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to share your home with an unearthly spirit who can’t find closure? Living on the edge of a cemetery with souls dating back to the 1700s would be enough to spook anyone, but Naomi finds it oddly romantic, and becomes inspired to write her next novel. Why not, when her muse, Maggie, calls to her from beyond her own window?

After all, the story couldn't possibly be as complicated as Naomi's own love life. Torn between Ryan, the mysterious and seemingly perfect man she just started dating, and Bryce, the sexy single dad who recently moved in next door, Naomi must navigate the tangled web of dating—all while trying to solve the mystery of Maggie's death.

When things turn dangerous, Naomi quickly learns whom she can trust and, more importantly, whom she can’t. Will she be able to write Maggie’s story and finally give Maggie the peace she deserves?

Maggie- Mya O’Malley

4 Stars Review

Maggie was an incredibly great book! It had so many different and interesting elements and is a definite page-turner. This is book #1 in the Maggie trilogy by Mya O’Malley. Each and every character in this book is incredibly complex; and there are all kinds of situations that will surprise you at every turn. I was very captivated by this story from the very start.

Naomi is a currently struggling author with a bad case of writers block, up until she moves into her new home, which just so happens to be by a cemetery. Naomi has never had any experiences with ghosts until moving in. She can now sense and see spirit in her home. While out for a walk in the cemetery she discovers the grave of Maggie Fields. Being the inquisitive person that she is, Naomi starts to investigate Maggie’s story, something about the whole thing seems off to her. With the help of her new friend Ryan she embarks on the journey to discover the truth of Maggie’s death.

As she delves deeper into her search she finds herself having more frequent vivid dreams she believes to be Maggie relaying information to her. Naomi finds herself questioning everyone and trusting no one as secrets of the past are revealed. New information keeps coming up and she finds that she just can’t stop her search. With the help of others Naomi continues to uncover the truth and slowly overtime the truth is revealed.

This book honestly kept me on my toes until the very end. Just when I thought I had everything all figured out I turned out to be wrong. This storyline is incredibly original and I found it very refreshing to read. While there were times where I couldn’t help but think the story was super far fetched I couldn’t help but appreciate Mya O’Malley’s unbelievable imagination. This is a story like no other and I absolutely loved reading it.

Maggie by Mya O’Malley
4 Stars

Most people wouldn’t want a cemetery in their backyard but Naomi doesn’t mind. Naomi loves her Victorian home that she bought and the cemetery for her is an added bonus. Being a writer, the cemetery can be her inspiration.
Not too long after moving in, a spirit starts causing havoc in her house. Doing some research, she figures out that it’s the spirit of a girl named Maggie. Maggie died three years ago from drowning. Her death was deemed an accident but Naomi’s gut told her there was more to this story. Why else would Maggie be trying to contact her? Naomi decides to start doing some investigating of her own.
Recently out of an abusive relationship, Naomi meets a man named Ryan. He seems interested in her and suggests that they research Maggie’s death together. They get along well and he’s easy on the eyes so Naomi agrees. Naomi meets her sexy single dad neighbor as well. Her feelings grow for both further confusing her.
Mya O’Malley weaves a mystery tale that will leave you guessing until the end. When you think you’ve figured it out, she throws a curveball at you. When I found out that this was part two to a Tale as Old as Time, I was surprised. These are perfect standalone books, neither has to do with the other aside from being about spirits. I enjoyed the fact that I wasn’t able to figure the book out right away. Having the mystery unravel slowly was delightful.

5.0 out of 5 stars I absolutely loved it! Aug. 13 2016

I absolutely loved Maggie. It had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter. Naomi is the quintessential writer that is open to her surroundings, honest to a fault, and sees things through imaginative eyes, with a curiosity and creativity that she not only plays to but draws from. When she meets Ryan, her entire world takes a different spin. He is handsome, full of charisma, and perfect boyfriend material. Then there’s Bryce, the sweet, handsome, single father next door who seems attracted to Naomi immediately, wanting to help her and protect her in any way she might need, making her love life even more confusing.

But let's not forget Maggie. Living next to a cemetery not only has its inspirational perks, but it is also full of mysteries to solve. And Maggie is one of them. When she starts invading Naomi’s dreams and her house, her life takes a turn she never would have expected. Maggie’s antics with Naomi’s cat, Zelda, are beyond entertaining. Add to the mix the ex-boyfriend, an overzealous police officer and numerous other interesting and essential characters and you have the makings of a fantastic mystery that begs to be solved.

Mya O’Malley’s characters are so full of life and light, and her stories so vivid, natural and perplexing, that you can’t help but be drawn in. Maggie was a riddle that kept me guessing to the very end, and the variables were constantly changing making it impossible to predict the outcome until it is revealed by the author. There were stories within the story, but each tale tied together with the next, weaving a perfect web of romance and the paranormal, a web only Ms O’Malley can create. It was the exact type of adventure I expect from the author, and has me looking forward to her next mysterious adventure.

I absolutely loved this! Mya definitely knows how to write paranormal/mystery/romance. The twist is what always seems to get me. Just when I think I have everything figured out, something is thrown into the mix. Honesty I finished this quicker then I thought I would. Before I knew it I was done. Maggie's tale upset me and at times made me cry. She deserved a happy ending! Mya knew just how to give it to her!

What do you do when you break things off with a jealous possessive and verbally abusive ex? You let your best friend set you up on multiple really really bad blind dates. So that is what Naomi did after her split with her boyfriend Nick. Amy sure knew how to pick them and this date was no exception. She escaped and ended up at the bar where she sat next to Ryan, mister tall, dark and handsome. They hit it off over a glass of wine and ended up deciding to meet for dinner. She goes home and decided it's time to start her new book and goes outside to search for inspiration. Her 1700’s saltbox house was close to a small cemetery and that's where she meets Maggie.

The tombstone of a young lady who’s life was cut short too soon at the age of 26. She decides that she is going to give Maggie a voice and tell her story from her own point of view. It would appear Maggie has other ideas for Naomi. When Naomi first moved into her house she noticed shadows and objects moving on her own and it appears so does her cat Zelda. Though it seems that Zelda and the ghost in her home seem to get along. What choice do you have when a ghost decides that you will be the one to bring her death justice? You Listen of course.

I am in love with this book Mya has perfectly blended the supernatural and romance genre’s perfectly I am now on the hunt for more from this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let's Play Confuse your Reader! Sept. 6 2016
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

The author attempted to present two voices through most of this book. The problem is that the two were indistinguishable. Add to that very poor character development, pacing, what should have been a magnificent plot was not. There was a win at the end though. I sobbed through it, surprised as I tissued away tears as fast as possible and still wound up with a damp pillowcase. So, while not a great work and indeed, would benefit from much more editing and re-writes, especially in the beginning to the middle, not entirely without recommendation either.
5.0 out of 5 stars A good ghost story and mystery wrapped in one! Nov. 6 2016

I love a good ghost story and mystery and this is it! The main character has just bought an old house which shares the land with a cemetery. The woman who bought the house begins having paranormal happenings in her house and visions of a woman. She has and ex-boyfriend and a new friend and their lives all compile together in the end.
