On a good note, the pages of this volume are much thicker and have a wonderful "tooth". I do suspect that they would not accept water colour very well though as the paper feels like there is no sizing or coating to the paper. This would leave the paper too absorbent causing warping and wrinkling, possibly even pilling if over worked. This is not an issue for me because I prefer coloured pencils, and in reality coloured pencil is the medium these books are designed for anyway.
