Had been looking for something for a very long time that would work in my truck. Have tried the ones you insert into the vents but never lasted very long and was not happy with those type. I was skeptical on the ability to stick on my dash and be sturdy enough to hold my phone. I have a cell phone with a magnet in the case so it holds very well on this holder. I did not need to attach the extra piece sent with it. The magnet (or combo of my cell phone case magnet and the actual magnet) work really well together and it hasn't come loose at all. I have it installed just by my vent on the front of the dash and is perfect spot while driving. The holder allows you to position the phone in different ways and at different angles which is a nice touch. Highly recommend this if you want something simple, sturdy, and doesn't have a bunch of moving parts!

Excellent product, it is a little cheesy when it comes to the instructions though, bad English and I am still not sure what to do with the protective film that comes with it, there is no indication in the instructions what your suppose to do with it. I gather it is to be put between the metal plate and the phone/tablet, but that to me would cause the 3m tape to be weak. All that said though it does work very well. I used it on my boat with a Nexus 10 tablet (heavy) and it only fell off once when I crashed down hard on a wave, but for cell phones it is great, I am going to purchase another one for my car. This holder is smaller and less intrusive than any others on the market and does not add any bulk or weight to the phone plus it works right through the case on the phone. Almost ALL other phone or tables holders you have to take off the case, not this one.

Works as described. Phone hasn't let go yet while driving. I like that I could install plate on I side of case as not to see it. I opted for the large plate just for added grab. Got a couple automatic generated emails from seller which was nice. In one of them it said I was going to get a free E book as well with my item, which I didn't. Not that I want or need it, but if you say your gonna get it you should get it. Overall happy with product and communication with the seller.

Edit: I had another email from David that had the e-book in it as well as following up since having the package for a couple weeks. The email went to my spam though that is why I never saw it.

Detached in hot vehicle after a week. Not worth the money.

Please be advised that adhesive was not strong enough and item detached in hot vehicle after a week. I went out purchased additional 3M double side tape in attempt to rectify adhesive problem. However, i received the same results as soon as the car warms up the the adhesive would detach from plastic trim in my vehicle.
Very disappointed that i cannot return the items after 30 days. I made an attempt to rectify issue myself before processing return. Unfortunately, the item did not work as advertised.. Mounting service is too small. Magnet and construction is too heavy can't support itself. I notified seller of the issue. No response. Very disappointed.

As with other descriptions, it uses sticky tape at the base of the holder! It also uses metal disks with sticky tape that attach to your phone or tablet. I should have read the reviews. It's more of a "permanent" mount because once it's in place, it's not fun to move it somewhere else and the sticky tape could lose some of its adhesive qualities.
Overall it's ok and I will keep it and not return it if I can find a place to "permanently" mount this in my Honda CRV.

I have used so many phone holders over the years. Vent clip, cup holder style, windshield suction...you name it. This one is by far my favourite because it hold my iPhone 8+ vertically or horizontally if I’m using maps. The small footprint of the mount makes it so easy to find a suitable place to put it that isn’t in the way but still give me visual access to my phone. No more overheated phones from being help against the vent. I might buy another one with the idea of mounting it in front of me with a heads up display app. You can buy the reflective films for the windshield and I do a lot of driving, I’ll update if I figure that out. Oh and by the way. I have never hit a bump hard enough to dislodge the phone from the magnet, the strength is incredible.
