Starting with the (costly) publishing mistakes he's made, Matthews goes on to spell out where to access those sites, programs and techniques anyone can make use of. He makes the case for why a blog is so important...and the best sites to investigate. He shows how the social media can boost your sales, and which ones are worth it. Youtube and Google, Twitter and Facebook, they all have a place.
I learned that the world's largest book distributor (Amazon) has a free print-on-demand site. No membership fees, not set-up fees, no bills sent to you. Just royalties, when your books are sold, and listing on Amazon.com.
A lot of information is packed into this book. It not only told me how to do it, it motivated me to check these things out. A top find and a real value. Anybody with a book inside them should check this out!
Notwithstanding some formatting issues in the print version of this book, Jason Matthews has provided the aspiring E-book author with a treasure trove of links, resources and “how to” insights that will save you countless hours of sitting in front of your computer looking for information on the dub-dub-dub. I can’t provide an accurate estimate of how many links are provided in this book; however, if I were to guess, I would say well over a hundred.
The other main benefit to this material is that most of it points to FREE resources and sources of information that will get the job done, and if you are inclined to spend a few dollars, then you can selectively choose which services will warrant some of your hard-earned cash.
Personally, I think if you are going to spend any money on your E-book, whether it’s in the creation of your book or in marketing or sales, start by spending a few dollars on this book AND then add the other four related books that I have recommended: E-Publishing for Dummies, The Global Indie Author, Aiming at Amazon, and Dan Poynter’s Self-Publishing Manual (please note that these are just the ones I am currently recommending, I may add others to the list as I read more of them).
Is SEO a mystery? It won't be after Jason's explanation. Want to format for sites other than Amazon and have no idea how to go about it? You will after reading Jason's instructions.
There is so much in this book. So far it's answered all of my questions. And the beauty of it is that as the market changes Jason updates the book, so what you find in it will always be the latest information.
There are other books out there, obviously. But you won't go wrong buying this one.
Good job Jason and thank you so much!
