About the Author

Kaithlin Shepherd was born and raised in Canada where she learned to figure skate and crafted a love affair with coffee. Growing up in a household filled by strong-headed women, she learned early on that life is what you make it. You’ve probably never met a bigger country music fan, and in the words of Brooks and Dunn, “she’s a die-hard George Strait junkie.” Creating a world away from her own daily, she loves the feeling of creating a universe where her fans can forget about everything in their life. She loves writing alpha male characters and she doesn’t shy away from turning up the heat with scorching hot sex scenes. HASH(0x9ef57c6c) out of 5 stars Great Start with fun Characters!!! Sept. 17 2015
By Amy Crull - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
~I was given this book for an honest review~

I hate to call this book sweet considering both people went thru very traumatic things both it’s the truth. Cole and Jamie together is the best thing ever. They complement each other so well. Both are afraid to open up and love again but when they met sparks fly and a pull that neither one can break happens. This is a great start to a series with a fun group of characters! Cole after losing his dad decides to join the Army and immediately serves overseas but when he gets home, he is struggling bad. Thru therapy he is able to get himself better and able to help others with it. Jamie, on the other hand, went thru a kidnapping and torture and is slowly working her way thru therapy. Becca, her therapist and best friend sends her to her brother Cole. I don’t what it is about the country but it has a way of bringing people together and have the best families. The Callaways are a great family with a strong bond regardless losing a major part of them. What romance wouldn’t be complete without a crazy stalker try to break them up. This one definitely has one and she beyond awful. I was so happy when Jamie punched her!!! This is a great start of the series and I can’t wait to read more. I feel so connected to all the characters and can’t wait to see them find love!

HASH(0x9ef57cf0) out of 5 stars I recently finished Heart of the Music by Kaithlin and loved it. I then dove into Make Me Whole Dec 20 2015
By Heidi Pharo (Owner of My Girlfriend's Couch blog) - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is a hard review for me to write. As a blogger (My Girlfriend's Couch) I get introduced to new authors all the time. I recently finished Heart of the Music by Kaithlin and loved it. I then dove into Make Me Whole. There are so many things that I loved about it, but because of the lack of depth, I had to give it a 3 star rating.

First, things I loved... I loved that this was the first book of the Callaway family. I LOVE series that are about families and where each book has the love story of an individual family member. The Callaway's are an amazing family! They love each other fiercely and are just waiting for that perfect person to complete them. Make Me Whole focused on the oldest brother, Cole and Jamie. Both have had a rough past and both heal each other in a way that is perfect.

What I didn't like is the lack of depth within the story line and writing in general. I didn't write my review right away because I wanted to see if it was just me or if it was Kaithlin's writing, so I read the second book in the Callaway series - Forgive Me. Forgive Me was fantastic. Kaithlin did a much better job of diving in with the characters in that book. That made me realize that Make Me Whole most certainly lacked the connection with I was looking for with the characters.

That being said, Make Me Whole was a great start to the Callaway series. I can't wait to see what Kaithlin has in store for us with this family.

HASH(0x9ef5a2e8) out of 5 stars A great start to a new series that will have all your emotions reeling! Sept. 12 2015
By Erin - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This was an incredible story. It had all the “feels”. I cried like a little baby in some parts. Jamie and Cole are wonderful together. They have both survived somewhat similar circumstances. Cole is further along in his healing than Jamie, but they help heal each other. Cole was in the service, but now helps others with their therapy. Jamie was an aid worker who got taken and held hostage while helping in Darfur. Jamie had had extensive therapy, both emotional and physical. Becca, her physical therapist, is Cole’s sister and she suggest Jamie go work with him to further her progress. The chemistry is immediate. They connection is made as soon as Jamie steps out of the car at Cole’s house. They have a few ups and downs. There is the requisite “hoochie mama” that keeps the drama stirred up. But the overall tone of the story is the relationship between Cole and Jamie and how they are helping each other to live and love again. Cole’s family is very tight knit and supportive of each other. They all take to Jamie immediately. A very beautiful story and an amazing start to a new series! With all the family going on in this story, I can see quite a few books in the making!

HASH(0x9f315b40) out of 5 stars Pure romance Sept. 15 2015
By Lisa - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is going to be a series that captures my heart and leaves me eagerly awaiting the next instalment. The Callaway family is amazing and will leave you staking a claim on these hot men.

Cole and Jamie's story was the perfect opener to the series. Theirs is an incredibly emotional story of two broken people healing each other. Both have been to hell and back but find the peace they need in each other. This is romance at its absolute best with love at first sight, intense feelings and sparks that jump off the page. It is a riveting and emotional read as you get caught up in their past, present and future. Story telling at its most romantic and set against a backdrop that enables the characters to have the space to discover each other at their own pace. I need another Callaway hit asap.

HASH(0x9ede6d38) out of 5 stars Heartwarming Sept. 17 2015
By CDyess - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This heartwarming story of a young woman who was brutalized by terrorists learns to live again. After being saved she has to go through extensive therapy - both physical and psychological - then she has to learn to live again.

A meddling best friend sends her off for "therapy" only with an ulterior motive. Vickie finds life in the most unexpected place.

This story was well written and draws you in. Very well written making you not wanting to put the book down. If there is any negative to say I would say I felt the emotions this character had - changed suddenly - to me a bit too fast, but that is a personal opinion. I could totally see the love at first site happening.
