Hemp Hearts, the very best and most nutritious part of the hemp seed, the heart. By shelling the hemp seed, you get only the center, with its raw nutrition, rich nutty flavor and tender crunch. So easy to use, eat them straight out of the package or sprinkle on anything – salad, cereal or yogurt – the only limit is your imagination. Unlike some other seeds, there is no need to grind Hemp Hearts to get at the incredible nutrition. They are full of protein with 10 grams of complete (all the amino acids), plant-based protein per 30 gram (3 tablespoons) serving size. Hemp Hearts are also a great way to add omegas or EFAs (essential fatty acids) to your diet. According to the World Health Organization, the ideal ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 EFAs is 4:1 and the naturally occurring ratio in Hemp Hearts is 3.75:1. Hemp Hearts contain more protein and omegas and less carbs than a similar serving of Chia or Flax. Manitoba Harvest is the world’s largest hemp food manufacturer to grow, make and sell our own line of hemp foods. Our producer partners deliver whole seed directly to our state-of-the-art, BRC (the highest level of food safety and quality certification in the world) certified facility. Here we remove the hard outer shell of the hemp seed, leaving just the soft, tasty Hemp Heart, which are tested for quality then sealed in a modified atmosphere, light impermeable package to lock in the freshness. All of our packaging includes the ‘packaged on’ and ‘best before’ dates to ensure you’re getting the highest quality product available. Hemp Hearts, as with all Manitoba Harvest products, is Non-GMO Project Verified.

I am vegetarian and good thing about Hemp hearts is it contains more protein (10g per 30g) and Omegas 3 and 6 (10g per 30g) and less carbs (3g per 30g) than the same serving of Chia or Flax. This is good as my diet does not contain much protein. Also they are vegan, kosher and non-GMO. They incredibly nutritious, raw, low carb, easy to digest plant-based protein. Hearts are also a great way to add omegas or EFAs (essential fatty acids) to diet. Also there is no need to grind the seeds and unlike chia and Flax they don't feel sticky.
These are quite high in fat, with 1.5g of saturated fat. However, there are 10g of polyunsaturated fat and 1.5g of monounsaturated fat (you know, the "good" plant fats). And they're cholesterol free. These are also quite high in fiber and and have very little sugar.
Also it contains some other good other good nutrients as well. Phosphorus (45%), Magnesium (45%), and Manganese (110%), as well as having decent amounts of iron and several B vitamins.
I initially purchased smaller 454 grams be soon and liked so much and now ordered 2.3 Kgs version. Overall quite satisfied with it and definitely recommend it.
Manitoba Harvest is located in Winnepeg, which I am sure you have surmised by the company name, and they offer a variety of hemp-based products other than these in order to support dietary needs. Should you wish to see the nutritional information, a great summary can be found on their site here; http://manitobaharvest.com/hemp_nutrition.html
The plant is rich in amino acids, Omegas, iron, magnesium and a multitude of other nutrients, while also being grown in a sustainable manner and without genetic modifications. In comparison to chia or flax, hemp provides less carbohydrates, while supplying more protein and Omega 3&6.
As well as offering better options for our personal health, the company is a Certified B Corporation, which means that they meet higher standards where accountability, performance, sustainability and transparency are concerned. This is both socially and environmentally, which I think is excellent and it makes me proud to have them based here in our country.
I have wanted to try hemp foods for a while, as I have heard so many good things about them, but I was quite hesitant because I had preconceived notions regarding the way they may taste. Manitoba Harvest provides recipe ideas on each package and I simply tossed things into a smoothie every morning.
Their Hemp Pro 70, which is 95% digestible protein powder, contains the highest amount of protein per serving that they offer and is ideal for a shake if you are going to prepare for, or recover from, a good workout.Read more ›
