Product Description

‘So, they want me to write a book? They want to know about my band, my life, my loves and my losses. But they have no idea what they’re asking for. If I give them what they want, they’ll get so much more than the sex and drugs and the rock and roll they’re expecting. They’ll get the secrets that I’ve kept for so long, they’ll get an insight into the person I really am, or at least was. They think they know my story, they know nothing.
If I do this, if I write honestly and give them the ugly truth, people will get hurt. People that I love, people that have already suffered in the worst possible ways.
Do I do this, or do I walk away? Taking my secrets to the grave.’
Marley is an adult contemporary romance. It contains content suitable only for grownups with an open mind. There are scenes of group sex which include m/f/m a little bit of f/m/m and even some f/f/f/m/m/f/f/f. There is drinking and drug taking involved. A lot of swearing, some Essex slang and some very high emotion. Please don’t complain after reading this book that you wasn’t warned.
And yes, of course you’ll need tissues.

A Carnage Novel
Lesley Jones

Get ready to collect the peaces of your heart after reading Marley. The carnage that he leaves behind will mark you forever.

Marley had the chance to tell his side of the story that has the potential to destroy Maca's memory and his beloved sister George will be heartbroken to beyond repair.

Marley has been carrying so much pain and guilt for so long but is he ready to shine all those secrets to the world and hurt the people he most love?

As always didn't expected anything less from this story. Knowing is a novel from the Carnage series you know tears, sex, drugs and rock a roll will be present. We expect to have one unbelievable experience just like Carnage 1 & 2 and as always it delivered every single expectation.

You don't want to miss this amazing and incredible series I guarantee it. We recommend for you to read Carnage Book 1 & 2 prior to Marley.

***As always be aware there are adult situations with sex, drugs and foul language please we advice this book to be read by 18 years or older. Readers Discretion Advised.

I always knew reading Marley was going to be an emotional roller-coaster. Let’s face it, anybody reading this would certainly have read Carnage books one and two. And we all know what happened in them.

This tells the story from Marley Layton’s point of view. Where the rock band Carnage began, what happened in the four years his sister, Georgia, and band mate and childhood friend, Sean McCarthy, were apart. Marley is torn about whether to write a book about his life as a rock and roll star and all that entailed in that lifestyle. He is torn because of all the guilt, the secrets opening up old wounds. Ashley, Marley’s wife, wants him to open up share what will be in the book; however, he is reluctant and unsure as to whether his wife and kids should know all the things that he did back then.

Quote: Ash ~ “Talk to me, Marls. Please, don’t shut me out.”
Marley ~ “It hurts, Ash. It still ******* hurts so much.”

We step back in time as Marley tells us how it all started on the first Carnage tour when he found himself and Maca in a predicament in Paris 1985. Two young lads of eighteen in a band, the girls, drugs and alcohol on offer is a recipe for disaster. Only Maca is supposed to be in love with Marley's little sixteen year old sister, Georgia. Marley gets it in his drug fuelled mind with the help of others that if they were to marry, the band may no longer continue. So he does a selfish act that he will forever feel guilty about.

Len Layton, Marley's elder brother and manager, despairs of Marley and Maca's behaviour through the band's glory years. The boys constant drug taking, drinking and sleeping with anything that moves in a skirt and in fact, not averse to sharing their women.

It’s no secret that Carnage 1 and 2 are my all-time favorite books. So when I found out Lesley was writing Marley’s book I was really excited but nervous for what we would find out. I wanted the back story of Carnage but I really wanted to hear Marley’s story. I wanted to see how his relationship with Ashley formed, how he felt when Georgia pushed him out of her life, how he handled the success of being a bad ass rock star and I wanted to know all the dirty little things he and Sean got up to during those four years.
In great Lesley style she rocked this book! I laughed, hard laughed to where my husband would ask what was so funny and I cried. I cried hard, ugly tears to where my husband would ask why I continued to torture myself with these characters. I wanted to devour this book but I also wanted to savor the book. I love the Carnage family and never wanted it to end. You know it’s a good book when you are sneaking in reading time while at red lights. I hate being stuck at a red light but didn’t mind too much when Marley was riding shot gun in the passenger seat. I needed to know what was going on. I could not put the book down. But the book needs to come with a warning! DO NOT READ WHILE AT THE OFFICE! I know, I know, I should have known not to read it at the office but did I mention I could not put the book down? Yeah….
Seriously, Lesley, I don’t know how you come up with half this stuff. Oh, to spend the day in your mind. Amazingly great book! I can’t wait to see what you do next. Fan girl for life and I still adore my Sean, always and forever no matter what.

Well, it took me a while to recover from the first two CARNAGE novels. I wasn't sure what to expect with Marley. I thought that perhaps I wouldn't read this one as I thought it had all been said, but I couldn't help myself. First of all, let me say that the story line really is true and follows exactly what you read in CARNAGE 1 and 2. But, before you think as I did,- that it would be rehash, let me say honestly, that it wasn't. I have never read such a good differentiation of POV between the sexes, as Jones has done.
Second, my heart was broken, YET AGAIN, in MARLEY, as I read about the activities of himself and Sean. Although I loved Sean in CARNAGE, reading the hidden stuff, the stuff that went on with Marley filling in the blanks, made me kind of sick and angry. I KNOW RIGHT! Angry that he lacked integrity and had become such a pig. I know technically he was single, and Marley should be judged just as effortlessly, but I couldn't wrap my head around a guy who proclaims unrequited love and then chooses to live like that. Marley was different. He didn't pretend to be anything he wasn't and when he did make a choice, he made it. In the end I am not sure, but I may have liked Marley more than Sean, and let me tell you, that was unexpected.

Once more, Jones has ripped off the bandaid and made me bleed again. I loved it!! I also really enjoyed the ending. It was perfect and perfectly Marley!
