About the Author

Rosemary O’Toole, a Sister of St. Joseph in Canada is a spiritual director at The Upper Room Home of Prayer in Ottawa, Canada. For over 30 years, she has been offering adult faith teaching series and retreats in neighbouring parishes. In 2002 and 2008, she was invited by the Catholic Women’s League to lead their Diocesan Retreat: Advent Pondering with Mary: A Contemplative Woman. These retreat notes have been updated and printed in this book. Mary: A Contemplative Woman was prepared by Betty Ross, Elizabeth Charbonneau, Fay Barber, Sarah Wayne, Margarett Gillis and Rosemary O’Toole CSJ to encourage a more conscious contemplative living among the faithful with Mary as our model par excellence.
