Play as the Pathfinder, a leader of a squad of military-trained explorers, with deep progression and customization systems. This is the story of humanity’s next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda Galaxy. As you unfold the mysteries of the Andromeda Galaxy and the hope for humanity lies on your shoulders – You must ask yourself How far will you go.

A New Start
The seismic events that shaped the Mass Effect galaxy as we know it are now ancient history. The Reapers have been and gone. Commander Shepard’s galaxy-saving heroics are long past.
You are Ryder, a Pathfinder exploring the Andromeda system in search of a refuge for humanity. And while securing a safehaven for mankind may be a familiar problem in a universe riven with war, you’ll have new tools at your disposal - not least an impressive ship, the Tempest.
You’ll meet new allies, confront new threats, overcome new online challenges and discover new worlds. It’s a new start for the Mass Effect series on PS4.

So yeah, good game.
Still doesn't beat Mass Effect 2, though.
This game nails the atmosphere of ME1 at times. It's a strange combination of field of view, camera distance and movement that really reminds you of Mass Effect 1. That was a flawed game but for different reasons. Again, that was mostly down to polish and the want for more content, or more varied locations. Andromeda's only gripes are down to pacing and minor sloppiness. I do mean very minor.
Playing this game is a long burn. I suppose you could speed through it, but a fan of the series will end up on a long, meandering path looking to soak in the details. I have played over 70 hours in single player and have not finished the campaign. I am also at around 60% completion.
The meme videos trashing this game are really strange to me. People don't treat a game like Fallout 4 like this, even though Fallout 4 is worse in almost every way, from scenario to animations. Witcher 3 is definitely a more polished title, but Andromeda is at worst like, an 8/10. As far as games this year go, this is better than Zelda, and has way better gameplay than Horizon.
It's an excellent game for fans, and not a bad play for new players, though maybe a little overwhelming since there is so much to absorb. I'll be playing this one for a long time.
