very interesting origin story to some well known characters, the art style has nice touches and I can't think of what more I could need from it

HASH(0xb34f78f4) out of 5 stars Great backstory on the Illusive Man! Sept. 27 2011

Format: Paperback
This Evolution series is a great addition to the Mass Effect Universe. It gives a much needed backstory on Jack Harper, who eventually becomes the Illusive Man, leader of the human organization, Cerberus. I enjoyed this series and recommend it to any Mass Effect fan that wants to delve a little deeper into the Illusive Man's past.
HASH(0xb350a558) out of 5 stars The Ellusive Illusive Exclusive! Sept. 11 2013

I am a self confessed Mass Effect superfan. i have loved it from the moment I started the first game through the 5+ complete playthroughs I have done of the trilogy. The story, characters, sound, environments, and action were top notch. There are moments in this game, especially of those with strong ties to the characters, that have an emotional impact unlike anything I have played in gaming. With the added DLC that has come out, and the over 500 hours I have gotten out of the multi player, this title is very well worth the cost and addition to your library and will flesh out the storyline and background of The Illusive Man's origin and actions to what drives him and answers many of the questions and raises more about this shady character. Well written with good pencils, a must for any fan or anyone wanting more information on the lore behind the game.
HASH(0xb350e24c) out of 5 stars A decent expansion on the Mass Effect fiction May 12 2015

I really enjoy the Mass Effect Universe, so naturally I had to read this. It definitely expands on the universe without treading too much on the game's stories. It's not the most in-depth, but still a fun read to further the fiction.

HASH(0xb34f793c) out of 5 stars Not a Must Have Feb. 9 2012
By Kindle Customer - Published on

If you love the game and love it for the story, then all the back stories are just icing on the cake. If you are looking for a great graphic novel then this isn't it. I'm not disappointed in the purchase at all, but it isn't something I feel completed the story from the game in any way. If characters from this story end up popping up in Mass Effect 3 then I stand corrected, but as of now this doesn't fill in any gaps or shed any new light on anything. It is more of a history lesson on the Illusive Man's distant past without filling you in on how he became who he is in the current story told in the games.

As a fan of the game and the story being told, it wasn't a disappointment in the sense that it wasn't as though I read it and felt I wasted my time. But it also wasn't what I was expecting either.

I'm a big mass effect fan so I wanted to know more about the ME universe so I started reading the comics. It is drawn really good with great action and drama that gives you that urge to turn the page!
