About the Author
Lee Lanier is a 3D animator, digital compositor, and director. His films have played in more than 200 museums, galleries,and film festivals worldwide. Before directing the shorts Millennium Bug, Mirror, Day Off the Dead, Weapons of Mass Destruction, 13 Ways to Die at Home, and Blood Roulette, he served as a senior animator in the lighting and modeling departments at PDI/DreamWorks on Antz and Shrek. He created digital visual effects for such films as Mortal Kombat while at Walt Disney Studios. I was able to acquire the DVD content from the publisher. But It took a few days, and several emails back and forth. I think Amazon needs to find a way to smooth this process out with publishers of this type of material. If I can get the book instantly, I think they should be able to find a way to get all of the necessary content with it as well.
PS So far I like the book but have only just begun I may still raise the stars again.
Texturing and Lighting have always given me problems but this book helps with figuring out quick and usually easy solutions for Texturing and Lighting. My instructor highly recommended this book to me and I must say I'm glad he did.
It is very easy to read and the author makes it a point to keep everything concise and to the point. It's not overly wordy and provides excellent supplement learning material. The lessons are straight forward and allow for following the text but also allow for experimentation.
