This bio came out a month before the royal wedding but I only got around to reading it now because I'm curious about Megxit and what was really behind the Sussexes' decision to quit royal life less than two years after the wedding. This book doesn't really provide any real answers, since it reads as though it was written by a star-struck society reporter, repeatedly gushing about Meghan (to be fair, many of us were star-struck in the Spring of 2018, myself included, when we thought that a well-educated, articulate humanitarian would make a terrific addition to the Royal Family).
I'm aware that Andrew Morton was probably not privy to what was going on behind the scenes, which would explain why he wrote that William and Kate welcomed Meghan into the fold (not true: as we've since learned, Kate was standoffish and William warned Harry that he was getting too serious, too quickly, which caused a rift leading to the total estrangement today). Still, a little less gushing and a little more objectivity would have made for a better book.
