it is really thick and it does have a lot of information, but things like 'both male and female gerbils have a ventral marking gland on the abdomen' is not a fact that i am likely to need. this may be a book many people will enjoy reading but not much help in an emergency. like saying that antivenom is the only thing likely to work for a rattlesnake bite e(but don;t bother looking under R for rattlesnake, its not there). when old Firecracker had an encounter with a rattlesnake, luckily i keep big syrings without the needle filled with benadryl cough medicine, in the medicine cabinet, her mouth and she is still with us.
