Pros: 720p HD image quality; bright image (usually - see below); effects are pretty amusing; decent audio quality
- the camera absolutely cannot keep focus, even if you do not move from a single location in front of the camera, it will drop focus again and again. In a 1 minute 9 second video i captured, it dropped focus a total of 9 times, THAT"S OUTRAGEOUS and makes the viewing experience unbearable
- The camera seems to almost constantly be changing brightness levels, usually not too drastically, but sometimes so much that the image suddenly goes very dark, and then bright to the extent that you can hardly make out an image.
- I'm inclined to believe that this may be a software issue, but in a recorded clip i took, the audio skipped ahead multiple times, with only about the first 5 seconds of video having the words and mouth line up. This was so drastic that it left the second half of the video without any audio at all.
Overall, although the image quality is very good, the problems that I've experienced with this webcam should sway anyone away who is contemplating purchasing it.
The caoutchouc hook working for standing at the top of the monitor, but in my setup situation, this is not a versatile or genius concept.
For picture taking. I am a man, a real man and therefore do not stand in front of the camera for more that a few seconds to take a picture, but I will tell you that I have 2 teenage sisters and that they hate how the camera brings out the pimples and the imperfections on their face, they prefer the poor quality camera that's on my netbook, so if your looking for a camera that "makes you look good" I suppose based off of my sisters opinions, I wouldn't get this one.
The sound! I sing, and as for the Microphone, its really not that great for recording purposes but is is great for just web cam convos, probably better than most I've heard. I suggest you get a separate microphone for this purpose, however, I've heard that the software does not support a different mic and that you need a third party software to do this, which does kinda suck. For more info on this issue check out some youtube videos
The second point, the video quality is horrific, VERY SOFT focus. No sense of HD or any form of high quality video here.
Third and final point, there are VERY few controls and features to this camera. Even worse, the video output resolutions are completely non-standard with the exception of the 720 mode. This is not a camera for those who like a lot of manual control, the software is overly restrictive. In fact, if you could at least turn off the noise-cancellation feature it might solve the whine problem!! But no such luck.
I've seen the reviews on YouTube. A lot of them looked really good. I can only think I got a really BAD unit. It's a shame because it is built very well and is quite small and looks good on top of my monitor.
I suggest if you're going to buy one, do so at a store so that you can bring it back easily should you have a dud.
My only qualm with my purchase is that it's difficult to adjust the height of the webcam since the rubber piece works great for being on top of a screen but by itself it doesn't function very well. With that said, for the money I paid I don't expect there to have been a better choice at the time than this model. Although it says it's HD, I didn't really notice anything especially clear during video calls or taking photos with it, but I wasn't looking for that type of quality anyways as my internet connection doesn't support that.

Mic works great, too. I've had it for a few years now. It's nice to have a good webcam.

Very easy to use. To stay on focus you have to stay in direct line of view of the camera (pointing straight at you), of it will focus to the back behind of you. Read morePublished on June 30 2013 by Daniel Berrettoni
This webcam is good; nothing super impressive, but it gets the job done and it's reasonably priced. I would recommend this webcam to people who do a lot of skyping and such.Published on June 17 2013 by Nick
Very easy to use, image quality is good if you don't move too fast. I found out that the more light there is, the better it works to catch fast movement. Read morePublished on May 28 2013 by Brigitte
