My son bought (with some assistance from mom and dad) a new laptop for himself primarily for gaming. But come September when he starts middle school, we’d like him also to use it for his homework and school projects. Our household has used MS Office for years so it was our go to software. Purchased primarily for Word, Excel and PowerPoint should also see some use as well. It was easy to install, acquired by download from Microsoft after inputting the key code included in the box on their website. It was also decent value ($139.95 at time of purchase), costing 20 bucks less than buying direct from Microsoft (go figure).

Quick and easy install and a highly useful suite of office software for a decent price. Hard to go wrong. Recommend.

Installed and it worked for five days - then Microsoft uninstalled from my computer and disabled Outlook - even though I had an older legitimate version installed on my computer - so now that doesn't even work - Microsoft is trying to get me to upgrade to Office 365 - so don't buy it - there are some people who have had success installing and keeping it running but most have the same problem I did

This worked fine for me. The only issue I had was I purchased a new laptop & it had a free trial version of MS Office 360 already installed. Once I saw it wasn't installing fully, I did some research and uninstalled the free trial version of MS Office 360 and when I went to install this one again, it worked.

I purchased this full version as a ONE TIME PAY, not the 365 yearly subscription in Feb. 2020. Now in Sept. 2020 my program will not work and says I need to renew my subscription. There is no subscription!
I’ve been to the Microsoft site looking for help and there is none. Since I purchased this through Amazon I am questioning the integrity of the seller as well as Amazon for allowing this sort of thing to happen.
I have seen that a few users continued to use the program but many could not. Having used MS programs for decades I know how they work and this is not following that pattern. Therefore I am calling this a scam.

Need long hours to work with MS to get the product key working

Following the instruction of the installation but found Office.com/setup did not recognize the product key provided. I need to spend over an hour working with MS tech support over the phone before they enable the product key for me. After that I then can go to the download site to download the software.

Seller should not sell a non-functional product key.

I had been running Office 2011 up until now. Figured an update of some kind was likely a good idea. Minimal use of most of the features. I mainly compose basic text documents
2019 downloaded and installed easier than most Microsoft products I have used. Apparently lots more features I won't be using. Application is slow to open each time. Not used to seeing spinning beachball with Office. Bottom line is I do need Office's word processing function, and this one does the job.

This is so limited in capability and flexibility. Labels ... either buy a subscription or fight with trying to download a template. Business cards .... same deal. Columns or tables in your documents .... buy an upgrade. Linked tables in your workbook .... buy the upgrade. If you know anything about spreadsheets and workbooks, or document processing, you do not want this.... get the professional version and don’t waste your money.

.....so having this on hand to eventually upgrade will be a prudent plan. Only for a single PC, but it's a one-and-done purchase as you don't get stuck with an annual payment of the 360 version and should keep you running for over another decade. Has all the features a "non-business" should require.
No longer a disc in a box, but the download process is easy-peasy.

Unable to install. All I keep getting is there is a "temporary problem with the service" error. Nothing temporary about it. It has gone on all day long.
**Update**
Finally was able to install. Now I have what is basically the same Office as Office for Mac 2011 (I see no difference). The biggest difference is that now I will be able to get updates. All for $150. Way, way overpriced Microsoft.

I needed the product for Word, Power Point and Excel. If my old editions were compatible with Windows 10 (another nightmare) I never would have bought it. And the new version or Power Point is worse. If you like to have notes on your presentations that you see but your audience does not, the font is exceedingly small and cannot be enlarged. The background is gray and cannot be changed – white would be much better. Fonts in Word do not include all the fonts in previous editions. I could go on but if you have Windows 10 you’re stuck. You have to decide if you want to pay an annual fee for garbage ($69 when I last looked) or a one-time fee for garbage ($119).

Impossible to install

I read that many had installation issues, but thought that it be OK for me, No way! It took me more than two hours on the chat and phone with Microsoft to download and install this software. At one point Microsoft advised me to return this to Amazon or ask for the new product key because they though that the key was wrong. This was an absolutely ridiculous experience as the purchased software should come with the correct key with the clear instruction. I do not know whose shortcoming it is, Microsoft or Amazon, but for consumer it should not matter. Giving a one start for the absence of clear instruction, issues with the product key and bad Microsoft support. The first person I connected with was absolutely clueless and wasted my time. Only when I asked for the supervisor, I got some help. They connected to my computer and downloaded this software. I miss real disks that you can load into computer, but not that anyone would care to go back and do what is more continent for the consumer.

The instructions on the box are too vague and I mistakenly got a vendor who wanted me to pay for clearing my new SSD to make enough room for the MS Office program. Ridiculous! So I found the Microsoft site and easily downloaded the program. It failed to mention that you must restart your computer. After that, MS Office is working great!

I ordered this key card on Wednesday. Amazon delivery was made today, Friday, before noon. I attempted to install the program right after lunch... tried numerous times... finally called MicroSoft for assistance. I gave the product key number to the MicroSoft associate, and she stated that the product key was not a valid one... needless to say, I have already requested a return label from Amazon and have already taken the product key card to an Amazon drop off Locker... Hopefully I will see my money back soon!
