About the Author

Sarah is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Paranormal Southern Gothic series, The House of Crimson & Clover, born of her combined passion for New Orleans, and the mysterious complexity of human nature. Her work has been described as rich, emotive, and highly dimensional. An unabashed geek, Sarah enjoys studying obscure subjects like the Plantagenet and Ptolemaic dynasties, and settling debates on provocative Tolkien topics such as why the Great Eagles are not Gandalf's personal taxi service. Passionate about travel, Sarah has visited over twenty countries collecting sparks of inspiration (though New Orleans is where her heart rests). She's a self-professed expert at crafting original songs to sing to her very patient pets, and a seasoned professional at finding ways to humiliate herself (bonus points if it happens in public). 5.0 out of 5 stars An incredibly amazing saga within a saga Sept. 14 2014
By Becket - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Any gothic story set in New Orleans captures my attention from the outset. But whenever I hear that Sarah Cradit has a new book set there, I am eager to get to it; no matter how high my to-read stack gets, she gets a spot in there. Let me start off by telling you Midnight Dynasty is absolutely brilliant! Like my penchant for New Orleans gothic literature, I also love a good saga; thus, in keeping with the classic gothic device of telling a story within a story (cf. Shelley’s Frankenstein), Cradit has commenced an incredibly amazing saga within a saga. In the arching story in Midnight Dynasty, Acts 1, 2, & 3, being book 3 of the overarching story of The House of Crimson & Clover, we are introduced to many new and incredibly identifiable characters of both the Deschanel and Sullivan families. It takes a great writer like Cradit to weave the threads of so many characters into an enjoyable story. I have no doubt that the name Cradit will one day be associated with the echelon of gothic fiction writers, namely Radcliffe, Blackwood, and Rice. I highly recommend reading Midnight Dynasty—but you should read the first two amazing novels first in The House of Crimson & Clover series.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love, love Sept. 24 2014
By lank29 - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition

Sarah Cradit does it again. I found myself gasping, yelling out loud, NO (!!!!) and mourning for those lost to "the curse". No spoilers here. Read the books. If you haven't read any of this authors work, start now and start from the beginning with "St. Charles at Dusk". I love, love, love this series and can't wait for the next!!

I've been following this author and the series for close to a year. Every time I finish one of the series, I want more and I admitaly go into a funk until the next book comes out. Convocation did not disappoint. Old charectors, new charectors and all charectors are victims or potential victims of the Deschanal curse. It's a crap shoot, a sure thing and no one knows who will be next. No one has known how to stop it. There may be a way but the consequences are great and the stakes are high and nothing is a sure thing. Every charector comes alive whether that charector is good, bad or evil. Cradit makes it all believable. Next!

I finished Omega last week and had to digest all that went on. Phew! I can honestly say my emotions ran the gammit from absolute shock (still in Cradit recovery) to joy, to hopeful and then back to shock. This family has had more than it's share of grief, death and destruction. But, this family can also manage to pull together in time of need from the simple to the devastating. Sarah Cradit has never ceased to amaze me with her charector development, her gift for story telling and her ability to bring these charectors to life. Very few authors have ever done that for me and Cradit does it every time! I've said it before, if you haven't picked up her first book, do it now and keep going. I can't wait for the next act!!

5.0 out of 5 stars So sad, but way good. Sept. 22 2014
By Echo - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I reached the last page of Midnight Dynasty and was reeling from the magnitude of sadness that permeates this book. I’m just so freaking sad over the turn of events and to be honest story wise this is one of my least favorites of the series, just because of the fact that my bookish heart just got ripped out and stomped on repeatedly.

That being said, I still love this series and am highly interested in seeing what happens next.

After all of the questions that have been raised and all of the heart rending drama that’s been inflicted upon my beloved Deschanels, everything comes to an explosive head here, with many questions as to who will live and who will die, which relationships will survive and which ones are doomed to crash and burn in the fiery depths of hell – well most of those are answered. I wasn’t completely content or thrilled with these answers and found myself repeating this mantra repeatedly in my brain and aloud while consuming Midnight Dynasty – ‘I trust Sarah, I trust Sarah, I do, I trust her, she’ll work all this out….eventually….hopefully…’ – And I do trust Author Sarah M. Cradit with her characters and characters that I have come to care about, I trust her with my reading time and that even if this chapter is marked with a deep and horrible sadness, that maybe the next chapter won’t be so harsh and that these beloved Deschanels will eventually get their happily ever afters…someday.

This is another 5 star read for me, even though I wasn’t completely thrilled with the story, reason being is because the writing is superb, and even though the death of one of my favorite couples has sent my bookish heart into a tailspin, I really do have to believe that Sarah has a plan and that what has happened will propel the series forward in new directions. Plus kudos to an author that doesn’t pull her punches and isn’t afraid to rip out a readers heart and make them feel.

Midnight Dynasty is best read after you’ve consumed all of the previous novels and novellas in The House of Crimson & Clover series. It’s an incredibly fantastic Fantasy series and if you aren’t reading them, you’re really missing out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Once again Sarah Cradit nails it! Sept. 14 2014

Midnight Dynasty is a 2014 publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Before I say anything else- Please read the first books in the series before you start on Midnight Dynasty. Some series can be picked up at the beginning, middle or end and the reader can still follow along. However, you will not understand the full impact of this novel without getting to know the key players and what has transpired up to this point.

So, now that we are have gotten the disclaimer out of the way...

The Deschanel family, like some other unfortunate families, like the Kennedy's, and the Guinness Family, is plagued by a centuries old curse. This curse has lain dormant for a some time, but it's baaaaccckkk!

“There is a price and his children will pay it. As will their children, and their children, all children who attempt to profit from anything Charles has built. This Midnight Dynasty will fall, as Ophelie fell, and there will be no more. This I promise, on my mother, and on my beloved Ophelie.”

This curse uttered over two hundred years ago still haunts the Deschanel family, There have been deaths and they are coming closer and closer together prompting some family members to form a Magi Collective to stop the curse once and for all.

Sarah does an incredible job of building suspense. It's a slow, moody, edge of your seat suspense with a palpable sense of foreboding. This atmosphere kicks the book off and slowly escalates as you sink deeper into it. You know something bad is going to happen and you desperately want to somehow prevent it but must watch helplessly as events unfold.
There are major developments for Oz, Tristan, and Alain and Katja. But, the AHA! Moment will come from Markus who finally hits upon something that could hopefully save this family that has been torn asunder. It will all make perfect sense and could be the gateway to merging the storyline back to Ana and Finn and what is happening on with them. Once can even become cautiously optimistic about the future. Either way, I am plan on having a front row seat for the next book in this multidimensional series. Once again Sarah Cradit nails it. 5 stars!

*** Definite 5 Star Read!! ***

Wow! Just wow. Midnight Dynasty, Act I: Malediction is so extremely well written. Sarah M. Cradit had me hanging on her every word.

I love the way this book focused on a new character's life and perspective with each new chapter. It was great getting to know some of the newer characters to this series a little better. A few of my favorite parts were:
1) Amelia's memory of her and Jacob's blossoming friendship in college
2) Colleen's recollection of how the Deschanel curse originated AND...
3) That ending!

If you are a fan of this series, DON'T MISS THIS ONE!! There is a ton of stuff going on with the Deschanels that you're not going to want to miss out on!

* I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review *

AMAZING! Just amazing! While Convocation is a little more intense than what we've come to expect from the awesome Sarah Cradit, I believe that that is what makes it one of her BEST stories yet. It's told at just the right pace, it's full of drama and intrigue, and it makes me want to hop on a plane to New Orleans -- like right NOW.

In Convocation we follow all of our old favs, and some of our new favs, as they struggle to understand and revers the curse of the Deschanels. I ached for Tristan...and Jacob's story... and sweet Adrienne who is so much stronger than I would have previously given her credit for. For the first time EVER I wanted to give Oz a good smack (I think Olivia could use one too) and I was definitely on the edge of my seat when it came to Alain and Katja.

Be prepared for some super cool new storyline, some even cooler new abilities, and to get to know some of the family members on a more personal level. Midnight Dynasty, Act II: Convocation is an absolute MUST READ!

I know I've said this before, but this time I really mean it... This is, by far, THE BEST book/act/short by Sarah M. Cradit that I have read to date. And I have read them all!

Midnight Dynasty, Act III: Omega both lifted me up and tore me down in equal measure. The love shared between these characters is so inspiring and such a joy to read but there are also scenes so sad they will bring tears to your eyes and even more shocking scenes that you wouldn't, COULDN'T, see coming in a million years that will chill you to the bone. And all so well written and in such vivid detail that it's impossible not to believe that these are real people suffering from a very real curse that has really been plaguing their family for generation upon generation.

Virtual high five to this author for writing a book that I couldn't put down, nor did I want to. I will not be able to rest until I get my hands on the next book in this series.
