Product Description

Review

Rupi Kaur's first book, Milk and Honey is the poetry collection every woman needs on her nightstand or coffee table. Accompanied by her own sketches, the beautifully honest poems read like the everyday, collective experiences of today's modern woman. (Erin Spencer, Huffington Post)

Rupi Kaur’s writing echoes of artistry and wisdom which is seen in the work of those that have been writing for years. (Samira Sawlani, Media Diversified)

Rupi’s poetry is simple, relatable, gorgeous, and grounded in the everyday experiences of young women. (Rachel Grate, Hello Giggles)

The honest words of Rupi Kaur leave you continuously wanting more as she writes with eloquence and poise. Her work will send you to past thoughts and realities you might not have known you had.
 (Sienna Brown, WildSpice Magazine)

Milk and Honey
This incredibly well-written memoir of Kaur's experiences as a young, Sikh woman growing up in a North American society take its readers on a journey through the celebrations of being human when it comes to love and family. However, Kaur has also (and unfortunately) experienced many things such as rape, sexism, and racism that are often treated as taboo and swept under colloquial rugs. This book hopes to serve as a voice for the voiceless as they find the courage and strength to overcome the repulsive acts of violence that victimizes women all too much.

Bought at Indigo Chapters for $15. Good short time read. Rupi Kaur uses her words very well in all contexts. She is inviting and transparent which I quite enjoyed while reading her book. Being from Toronto I was excited to read a book from one Torontonian to another. Her voice speaks to you as you keep turning her pages. She brings all emotions under one sitting which rarely books do that.

This book is a keeper, right in my growing collection for myself to reread and my future ones to read.

It's a really great book of poetry, but you can find almost all of these poems online. It's a little steep in price for such a small collection, but I still enjoyed it. Plus, I love that Rupi Kaur is Canadian, and I love to support my fellow Canadian artists!

It's a fantastic book of poems. Very relate-able and there is plenty of space on each page to write your own thoughts or poems or notes if you wanted to. There are definitely topics that may trigger so maybe be careful.
