Product Description

Travelling with a 85 year old parent to Washington D.C. was a life experience that this author won’t forget. Ralph Wessel is a truly loving and honest man. His observations and comments about the world around him can be very informational about the life he has lived over the past 85 years.

However, his honesty also provides great content. This story tries to balance the humor, laughter, and head-shaking- moments from Ralph's comments.

Reading this collection of One Minute Travel Stories will hopefully leave you shaking your head and wondering if when you are 85 years old if the color of the sky will be the same as Ralph's.

"I enjoyed your lens very much. Wish my dad was still alive so I could do that you have done with your father. My dad passed away age 56. Thanks for sharing." Kiwinana71, Squidoo comment

"Nice to read the devotion and love between you and your dad... wishing you two more happy adventures together :)" OjaHyazid, Squidoo comment

HASH(0xa04768b8) out of 5 stars A Humorous Recap of Travelling With an 85 Year Old Parent March 21 2012
By The Kindle Book Review - Published on
If you have elderly parents and sometimes are puzzled or humored by their thoughts and actions, then this collection of short travel essays will make you smile and even chuckle out loud.

The writer (a son of the main character and not an author) details his adventures taking his 85 years old father and retired farmer on his first trip to Washington D.C. This is a collection of about 20 stories each told in 2 minutes or less including photos.

The reader will find humor both in the essays and the pictures. Think of Jed Clampett crossed with Al Bundy and Archie Bunker and you will realize that the Reflection Pool really is a cement pond.

Don't expect a novel, but expect $0.99 worth of elderly humor.

Anyone who has travelled with their 85 year old parents knows that they tend to say what's on their mind and they don't care who hears them. Never mind that you spend most of your time shouting at your parents because they can't hear clearly. Anthony's book is about such moments. As I read it made me laugh thinking of my own mom and the similar experiences I had when I use to travel with her. I can tell the author has a sense of humor and really cares for his dad too. I think most people would enjoy reading this short book. I give it a 3.4 rating. So went toward the higher star.
