P.I. I Love You by Joanne Jaytanie

River Nightingale has had it with being a police officer in her small town of Bear Creek when she is once again overlooked for a promotion. She and 3 of her friends in similar situations decide to open a business in Seattle called Miss Demeanor Private Detective Agency.

River's first job is to look into the deaths of the parents of Blake Baxter as he believes their deaths were not accidental.

Homicide Detective Gage Hamlin is not used to having his cases reopened but River may be onto something.

Will River and Gage be able to work together to solve the truth or will the lack of trust between the two prevent them from working together?

This was a great book that hopefully be a series! I loved the relationship between River and Gage and that even though it was a short story it didn't feel rushed or pushed along. I loved that all the girls supported each other even though there was limited interaction between them all, they were always there when needed.

Bare by Angela Ford

This book is part of the Miss Demeanor PI series and so far I am loving this series! It is fun to see women taking charge of their lives after being unsatisfied with the lack of promotions they are given working in various police forces.

This book centers on Shay Brooks, who was a police officer in the small town of Connell with no chance of being promoted. Shay is asked by Renee Mills to try and save her daughter, Beth, who has begun working at BARE - Business Associates Reserved Establishment. Renee believes that Beth is dating Rick, the owner, who has got her hooked on drugs and stripping at his club.

This is a series of four story by different authors and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Golden Ribbons by Lauren Marie is a fast pace story that takes us the readers on a journey into the world of sexual slavery using minors, as this story takes us on some nasty twists and turns. We meet Cassie Holmes who has just make the decision to leave her home and career in Arizona ,to become a partner in a P.I.firm in Seattle .Cassie is assignment is to fine a missing teenage by the name of Cami Reynold , she was hired by Cami's mother to fine her baby girl and to bring her back home. But as Cassie is questioning some individuals about Cami, she meets an undercover police detective called Jack Donovan ,wh just happens to be very handsome and sexy which is dangerous on it's own. But handsome Jack Donovan has a way of forcing himself into Cassie case. But Cassie has some reservations about him? But jack seems to have some about her too, Specially about how spunk she can be. Will they both be able to fine Cami ,and bust the sex slavery business in the butt and send the scum bags to jail, to make a difference for these minors. I could go on and tell you more about this amazing series ,but that would spoil the story's for you. I highly recommend you read this great series ,because you won't be disappointed.

HASH(0xa2abaca8) out of 5 stars FEMALE PI AGENCY IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON Nov. 20 2015
By Redrabbitt - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This series has four stories by four authors that each focus on a different PI and case in the Miss Demeanor PI Agency. Four friends who had met online, all working as cops in various agency, but all passed over for promotions that were given to men less qualified. Getting together for a girls weekend in Seattle, WA and playing with the idea of their own agency and made it a reality. These are their stories.

P.I. I Love You (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 1) by Joanne Jaytaine
MURDER FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY
This story kept me captivated as the mystery and suspense of who-done-it unfolds. A two-part case for P.I. River Nightingale of the Miss Demeanor PI Agency, hired by Blake Baxter to find first who killed his parents, Wade and Trudy Baxter, and second to locate a half-sister given up for adoption. After the death, shocking secrets surface hidden away from Trudy’s children, Blake and Garnet. This story will keep you in suspense as the plot twists and turns unfold. River and Homicide Detective Gage Hamlin decide to work together rather than just against each other. In the process of working close together, feelings for each other come into play. This is an action-packed murder mystery with a touch of romance. This story has a great cast of characters, entertaining and witty dialog, along with action, suspense, solving a crime and bringing family together at last. I look forward to more stories in this Miss Demeanor series.

Bare (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 2) by Angela Ford
TAKING CHANCES
This story kept me captivated as the mystery and suspense unfolds. This story offers so much, with a mysterious case, a group of feisty female PIs, several deaths due to drugs, estranged family members, a gentleman's club with questionable reputation, and even some romance. The plot twists kept me in constant suspense and the pages turning. So many questions to be solved, who do you trust and who are the unsavory characters. I always love seeing the good guys or gals win and the criminals getting their comeuppance. This PI story has a great cast of characters with witty dialog, some action and a little steamy romance. I am excited to see this is a series and can't wait for the next book.

Choreographed Crime (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 3)
BUT I DID IT FOR YOU
This story kept me captivated and the pages turning as this mystery unfolds with the death of Floriano Garcia and whether his death was suicide or murder. When the star principle male ballet dancer, Floriano, is found dead in his apartment, the police rule it suicide but his mother does not believe it. Hiring PI Maile Kuhiwinui of Miss Demeanor Agency to research the case brings many people into question, several from the Ballet Company, but also Kalama Haleamau, aka Lama, who cooks genuine Hawaiian cuisine, and a new friend of Maile. Verses from the Bible are clues in solving this case. With this case pending, can Maile and Lama have a relationship, or will new evidence hamper them? This story has a great cast of characters and the mystery is slowly revealed leaving the reader to question who and why. This is a wonderful addition to this Miss Demeanor PI series. I liked that Maile is not overconfident and is willing to as her partners for their opinions and assistance. No wonder they make a great team, as well as friends.

Golden Ribbons (Miss Demeanor Series Book 4) by Lauren Maire
FOUR FOR FOUR
This story takes us on a nasty twist of sexual slavery using minors. Cassie Holmes takes on the case of missing minor, Cami Reynolds, hired by Cami’s mother. While question down-on-the-luck individuals under the viaduct, she meets an undercover detective, Jack Donovan. Jack has a way of forcing himself into her life, but he likes her spunk. Can these two find Cami, bust the sex-slavery houses and make a difference? The chemistry with Jack and Cassie sizzle, their dialog is witty and this story will keep you on the edge of your seat as it unfolds. The Miss Demeanor series are work well together and do not have to be read in order.

HASH(0xa2abacfc) out of 5 stars Four Short, Standalone Lady PI Stories Feb. 24 2016
By Maltieri - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
These are four standalone, HEA stories. They are a little short, but they still pack a good story for you to read. It is also nice that you can read one story a night and they don’t take up a lot of time. I only wish they were a bit longer because I would have loved to read more about each of them.

Each story focuses on one of the four lady PI’s. Each of them were cops before, but feeling like they are getting nowhere with their current jobs, they decide to move and start a PI firm together. They all met each other online in a lady cop chat group and have gone away on vacation together.

P.I. I Love You (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 1) by Joanne Jaytaine
P.I. River Nightingale is the first story. She was hired to find out who killed someone’s parents because the case was closed, but the son, Blake, feels as though they have been murdered. As a PI, River has to work with the cop who closed the case, who is not happy with River poking around. But as new evidence arises, he knows that he must work with River to solve the case. But will River go too far and get injured in the process? Will the detective, Gage, be able to be there for River or will it be too late?

Bare (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 2) by Angela Ford
This next story is about Shay, who is hired by a mother to find and bring her daughter home. This story deals with gentleman’s club, undercover agents, and a drug ring the size of the US. It was a good story.

Choreographed Crime (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 3)
PI Maile Kuhiwinui is hired to investigate the death of a principle ballet dancer. The dancer is found dead in his home and deemed a suicide, but his mother doesn’t believe it. She hires Maile to find out what really happened. As the story progresses, Maile finds comfort in Lama, who she met through a food truck. But as Maile finds out more information, it seems that Lama could be a suspect. Did he do it? Can their love survive?

Golden Ribbons (Miss Demeanor Series Book 4) by Lauren Maire
Cassie Holmes is hired to look for a missing minor. This story deals with sexual slavery of minors. The missing minor’s mother hired Cassie to find her daughter. Throughout this story, Cassie meets an undercover detective to is also working on the case. They must work together to find Cami (the minor), and bust the slavery ring. As they work close together, Cassie and Jack start to become close and their chemistry is sizzling. Can they work together to solve the case or will they be too late for Cami? Can their newfound relationship survive the test?

I received the book in exchange for an honest review.

HASH(0xa2856150) out of 5 stars PI's I want more Jan. 30 2016

PI I Love you....5 stars
This first novella in the Miss Demeanor series is incredible! I've found a new book boyfriend in Detective Gage Hamlin. Both of the characters are very good at what they do...solve murders and unravel crimes. This little book packs quite a punch...it has romance, mystery, intrigue, and did I mention romance? The chemistry and tension between Gage and River are spontaneous combustion waiting to happen. Very clean story lines and paragraph transitions and strong character development. This is proof that a book doesn't need to have sex on every page to hook a reader. The only downfall is that there wasn't enough. I can't wait for the other stories in this series. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend this novella.

B.A.R.E 4 stars
I am an Angela Ford reader. I enjoy her take on cyber crime and the light romance she weaves into her stories. The premise of B.A.R.E. was a good one. I enjoyed learning more about one of the owners of the Misdemeanor PI firm. With that being said, I feel the story line could have been better developed. The characters for this collection were introduced very well in the first story. I was expecting that same quality of storytelling to carry through the collection. Don't get me wrong, Ms. Ford is a great storyteller. This just wasn't one of her better ones. I found places that were incongruous at times with the story line, but chalked it up to poor editing/formatting.

CHOREOGRAPHED CRIME 4 stars
In the 3rd of this collection, we find the author exploring one of the other lady PI's. There is suspense, love at first sight, and a continuation of the story. While the characters are developed well, I'd have liked more from them.

GOLDEN RIBBONS 3 stars
The 4th and final story in the Misdemeanor series...left me wanting more information. The sentence structure, grammar, and over all transitions tripped me up many times. The story felt rushed and I was hoping for as strong a finish as the beginning. All in all it's a good series and worth reading.

Such a great series so far and I can't wait to read the next two!

Choreographed Crime by Jackie Marilla

This is the third book in the Miss Demeanor Suspense Series and I am really enjoying to get to know the women in this detective series.

Maile Kuhiwinui is having trouble settling into Seattle after just moving from Hawaii. She finds she is homesick and is trouble finding cases but all of that is just about to change.

Maile finds herself no longer missing Hawaiian food after finding a food truck run by Hawaiian Kalama Haleamau. Then she gets herself a case involving the supposed suicide of ballet dancer Floriano Garcia.

As Maile investigates more she finds her own personal life with Kalama being intertwined into the case and she realizes she may need to ask the girls for some help. Will Maile find the truth about Floriano's death before her own life is on the line?

I really enjoyed this story as it touched on the trouble Maile was having settling into Seattle and that moves are not always easy. This book really made Maile easy to relate to and you really want her to succeed with her case and her personal life!

Great story and such a great series!

Four female cops are tired of not being promoted and the lack of excitement that comes from being an officer in a small town. After they meet online in a group called “Lady Cops” they decide to start a private investigation business called “Miss Demeanor Private Detective Agency” in Seattle. In this series we follow four strong women as they fight drug rings, murderers, kidnappers and sex rings in the Emerald City.

P.I. I Love You by Joanne Jaytanie

River Nightingale just watched another promotion pass her up. She’s closed more cases than anybody in her town, only to watch a man with half the experience who works the least amount of anyone take the job. Enough is enough and when the possibility of joining her new friends as a private investigator in Seattle becomes a reality she calls her uncle, pulls a few strings, and makes the move to The City of Flowers. With their new business up and running a new client comes in asking for help with finding who murdered his parents and tracking down a long lost half sister that had been secretly adopted. Unfortunately for River, tracking down the murderer means working with bossy and prideful Homicide Detective, Gage Hamlin and reopening his case. He hates nosy private investigators and she hates smug arrogant policeman that look down their noses at woman cops. They need to put their differences aside and work together to solve the cases, because it seems like someone else is on their heels ready to do whatever it takes, even kill a cop, in order to hide the truth. This is an amazing story, the suspense dripped from each page and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. This is the first time I’ve read a book from Joanne Jaytanie, and I loved it!

BARE by Angela Ford

Shay Brooks has found that she’s hit that invisible glass ceiling, especially because she’s a female cop in a small town and not taken seriously by her partners. Agreeing to start up the “Miss Demeanor Private Detective Agency” with her friends in Seattle, she is excited to kiss her town good bye. Her first case has her taking an undercover job as a waitress in a gentleman’s club, where she’s trying to “save” the client’s daughter from the club’s owner. Once inside BARE, Shay finds out not everyone is who they say they are. I enjoyed Shay’s story and was impressed with the strong characters that were portrayed in a short amount of time. Angela did a great job setting the scene and creating a plot that was suspenseful from the beginning.

Choreographed Crime by Jackie Marilla

When Maile Kuhiwinui decided to leave Hawaii, she didn’t realize how homesick she would be. It seemed like a great idea at the time, join a group of female officers, and become a private investigator in Seattle, leaving behind the small town cop mentality in her review mirror. However, she feels like she’s not being productive as she sits back and watches the other women close their cases. Trying to get rid of her homesickness by comforting herself with food from back home, Maile meets Kalama Haleamau and realizes that Seattle might not be so bad. However, when a murder case is brought to Maile, she finds that Kalama is right in the middle of it and he might just be a suspect. This was not my favorite story in the book. Maile seemed very weak and didn’t seem have to have the mentality of a cop. She cried a lot and it frustrated me, I was happy to see this story over. I feel like Maile is the weak link in the series.

Golden Ribbons by Lauren Marie

Cassie Holmes is spunky and tough, she doesn’t take no for an answer and she isn’t scared to tell a complete stranger- who she lovingly refers to as “Sasquatch”- to take a hike. As tough as she is, she has a soft spot for the client who has taken what money she has to secure the aid of the private investigator. The client’s daughter, Cami, is a fourteen year old girl who ran away and has found herself victim of a child prostitution ring, and it’s up to Cassie and Sasquatch, aka Jack Donovan to help Cami and the other girls find safety. I like Cassie, she was my favorite character, and she is sassy and has a no-nonsense personality. She knows what has to be done and doesn’t stop to question it. I enjoyed Lauren Marie’s writing and will be reading more of her books in the future.

I did love this series, although I could have been happier without reading Maile’s story. The women in this story must step aside and learn to let a man help them even after they have played hardball with the men back in their small towns. This is about taking a big jump and changing your life when you find yourself in a rut. I will read more from Joanne Jaytanie, Angela Ford, and Lauren Marie.
