Mommy, am I pretty? is the most delightful childrens book for kids of all ages, with a powerful message delivered so beautifully.
Margot has captured the message of self esteem through a fantastic story that all ages will love. The illustrations themselves tell stories from the worms, stars and moons wearing sombrero's to the dog with a heart shaped patch. Mommy, am I pretty? is a story book I use as part of my yoga classes from my Lil' prescholers to my tween girls power yogees, to reinforce the message of how powerful our words are, and for the older kids the importance of self esteem. A highly recommended read and a must have book for your family and school library.

Mommy Am I Pretty? is a fabulous "self esteem" trigger for very young girls - ideal for introduction during that tiny age window before society and media begin shaping insecurities that can last a lifetime. As an executive at a sports-based charity that focuses on girls' self esteem, I see the incredible difference that tools like this can make, if deployed at an early enough age - BEFORE the damage starts. Both the message and the images contained in Mommy Am I Pretty? are extremely powerful - we loved it.

A very important book for our time!

I think this book should be required reading for every parent and child. A beautiful story that sends the right message to our young girls helping them focus on the true meaning of beauty. I bought this for my granddaughter and am ordering 6 more to have on hand as gifts for friends who are expecting grandchildren. I hope the author writes another for boys!!! S Elliott.
