HASH(0x9fa27fe4) out of 5 stars Tender, caring and Insightful May 23 2012
By Barbara Fiand - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Edwina's book is well researched, but written in poetic style . It is personable, introducing us to the women of history in a tender and very caring way. In these pages they become real, and one is drawn to them and wants to get to know them. These are the courageous women of the human story - often forgotten and rarely if ever talked about in the centers of power. Their power and energy, however extends through the ages and touches all women. They are indeed our mothers and our sisters.

HASH(0x9fa2924c) out of 5 stars An Unmistakable Gem!! June 8 2014
By Maggie May - Published on
Format: Paperback
As someone who is immersed in learning more about the women who have carved our "way" in society and in our world, also intrigued by the women who have sculpted their message driven by their undying commitment to their cause, I am forever grateful for being gifted this work of art! Edwina and her poetry takes you to where the story lays, and enraptures you to become one with the cause, creating a need in you to hear the calling. However, the unbelievable biographies and sketches by the renowned Sandra Mattucci, takes this publishing to a whole new level. I felt as if each of the women I saw were someone I knew, someone I needed to befriend and help on their journey. Their biographies kept me engulfed in the lessons that they each were here to teach, learn or convey to the masses or even to learn for themselves. This is an amazing compilation of women who have helped us expand our worlds awareness in areas of humanity and inequality.. in which it is so very needed today more than ever. I enjoyed this immensely!!

Edwina Gately has done a wonderful job profiling great women visionaries in this lovely blend of background and poetry. From Hildegard of Bingen to Rachel Carson, this book brings historical figures side-by-side with modern mystics, rebels, and prophets. It is a very inspiring work.
