"The Moved and the Shaken" is a remarkable book. Penned by a Hall of Fame hockey player it shatters the stereotype of what kind of book an elite athlete might produce. It is the antithesis of an ego-driven, self-serving, tabloid-ready project that seeks only to burnish the legacy of its subject. Rather Dryden intentionally inserts himself into the day to day activities of an Ontario family with an eye to understanding what drives them, what their dreams are and where they've come from. If only more politicians would take his lead and devote time to truly understanding their constituents both parties would benefit immensely; by extension Canadian society would reap an unprecedented and rich harvest of cooperation and collaboration.
