I use them for biking on the trails, when the sounds of nature alone isn't enough to keep me motivated to push hard :) I remove one earbud when in traffic or in the vicinity of where other cyclists might be. They work well for this purpose. Even with both in and the volume mid-high, I'm happy to report that I can still hear abrupt environmental noises (like a bell ringing from behind), but wind noise is minimal. That being said, I don't find them overly loud with both in and full volume. So if you're looking for a set of earbuds to damage your hearing with, then keep looking.
Technically speaking, they work great, and sound pretty good. In terms of sound quality, they definitely rival the wired pair I had for a similar price point, only they're not as loud (which I don't view as a bad thing, since I value my hearing). The fact that I don't accidentally pull them off my head (or pull my phone out of my hand) is a big improvement over the wired pair I was using before, and the ability to take the odd call without having to pull out the phone is really nice. I've only used them a few times so far, and I'm still getting used to them. The way they fit on the head is a bit strange to me, but with the helmet on this isn't noticeable. The volume controls also are a bit strange to me - would expect to click and hold to quickly adjust the volume, but this triggers the next/previous song in the playlist. Likewise, advancing to next or previous songs requires a click and hold for a few seconds. This behavior is documented, but for me it just takes some getting used to. Also, even using the small earbuds that were included in the package, I found they were a little bit larger than what I'm used to so after an hour of riding, they started to get a little bit uncomfortable. Not painful like some cheap earbuds I've had in the past, but uncomfortable. Maybe my ears are just smaller and daintier than the average male :) Like a new pair of shoes, maybe they/I will "break in" with more use.
All in all though, I'm happy with every aspect of this purchase so far, and especially the price, despite a couple of idiosyncrasies. I'm optimistic that I won't view these as idiosyncrasies with more use.
The product came as described, earphones, charging cable, extra sizes of ear buds, and a manual. Bluetooth pairing with my Samsung Galaxy S5 was really easy and an audible voice would give a nice alert when "Pairing" and then "Connected".
The sound quality was better than my QCY 4.0 Bluetooth and I believe because of the ear bud fitment, there was minimal sound leakage which provides a proper audio environment. The bass is decent, and at higher volumes I enjoyed the crispness and didnt notice any issues. Overall I'd say sound was quite good. As previous Bluetooth headsets have shown, sound quality when on calls is a bit lower than when playing music. Not sure if this is a fault of the headset or something entirely different. I've come to accept this is the way it is with all these headsets. I still give it a high ranking nonetheless.
Now, to the best part of these for me. The fitment both in the earbud and the mold of the connection wire makes for a sweet design and perfect fit for me. I love the convenience of these type of headsets but I'm constantly adjusting the damn earbuds as they're always slipping out. Because these wrap around your ears, it makes a world of a difference in how they snugly stay in the ears. This design is wonderful for the use of walking, jogging and training.
In conclusion, Mpow did a nice job with this headset and I must say to date, these are my favorite as the sound quality is as good, if not better, than what I've used and the fitment is THE BEST. The battery life, ease of connectivity and overall design are very nice. If fitment is top priority, give these a shot. I believe you will be very happy and the pricing is very fair.
