Works as expected. Inexpensive & easy to use. The twist lock feels sturdy. I used it with a bulb changing kit in order to change lights in a 14ft ceiling (including extracting a broken bulb). This setup worked like a charm (no ladder required). I'm not sure how well it would fare for extended use (such as painting a ceiling), but for quick & light duty jobs, this did the trick.

I got two of these Mr Longarm 9248 Twist-Lok Extension Poles to create a supported fabric Mandala as an accent for our yoga studio located in a city park.

One pole worked perfectly. Untwist counter-clockwise to loosen and extend/retract to desired length. Twist clockwise to tighten. Pretty straightforward. Except...one of the two poles had other ideas. So much so I debated wether to return it. It seemed defective. Well, I try to "make do" with what I have and just kept it. So far, it works just "OK", not great. Often the yellow plastic cylinder cap in the center separates from the metal tube. Also, loosening and tightening is not at all what you would expect. Much more difficult and time consuming. Grrrr....deduct one star. Quality Control please do your job!

Our mandala has been set up and taken down 3-4 times per week for four months now. So these get a lot of use. They seem to be holding up well so far. When winds are more than 15 mph or so, we shorten the poles 4 inches from maximum, to strengthen it, as they do bend and flex quite a lot. I was afraid they might break so we just lower them.

The top part of the pole has an eyelet, I would imagine for hanging on a hook, that works perfectly for our needs. We've inserted rope through that opening to create guy lines to support the mandala.

These would work well for supporting tarps as well, to protect from the elements. Of course, most will use them for painting with a roller brush or some other tool which can be screwed onto the end. I've done that as well, with this brand, and can say that they work as intended.

Overall, these met my needs and seem to be well-designed and should last for several years.

I recommend this item and would buy it again.

This is one of those products that you just need to have in your house at all times. You never know when you’ll need it, but super handy when you do. The universal thread makes is super useful for all types of different situations. I just used it to clean the grout between the tiles in my house and woke wonders and didn’t kill my back because the stick is tall and retractable to a comfortable height. I see myself using this for many more years to come.
