Product Description

From a New York Times & USA Today bestselling author ...

If you were given a second chance to catch your sister's killer--would a lifetime behind bars be justice enough, or would you make him pay, with his life?

Private Investigator Sloane Monroe has solved every case that's come across her desk with the exception of one--the brutal murder of her sister Gabrielle.

Three years have passed without a trace of the killer until today, when a young woman's body is discovered in front of the local supermarket. Now Sloane is faced with the most difficult challenge of her life--finding a man who's a master at concealing his identity before he kills again.

Park City, Utah was a peaceful place until Sinnerman came to town.

Enter the mind of Sam Reids, a serial killer who slashes his trademark letter S into the wrist of his female victims before he discards their body in the same place he found them.

Who is he, and why does he prey on innocent women?

HASH(0x9e0684f8) out of 5 stars nice thriller Jan. 18 2012

Sinnerman was my first introduction to both the author, Cheryl Bradshaw, and her wonderful character, Sloane Monroe. The similarities to the Stephanie Plum series make it a fun read, though the character of P.I. Sloane Monroe is a little more pulled together than Ms. Plum.

Three years ago, Monroe's twin sister was brutally murdered by a serial killer who calls himself Sinnerman. He's wickedly evil, preying on attractive brunettes, which Monroe is, and suddenly he's surfaced again, grabbing a young mother at a supermarket, and dumping her body 24 hours later nearby. Monroe had no intentions of letting the man who killed her sister get a way this time as she sets out after him.

Complicating her life is her relationship with a macho detective who wants to keep Monroe 'safe' by controlling her life. Entering her life again after 2 years, is a handsome Giovanni, who may or may not have mob ties, but he does seem to intimidate even the police chief when Monroe uses Giovanni to get her way.

Monroe's best friend Maddie, a medical examiner who dresses like an exotic dancer, gives the reader good insight into how a crime scene is handled. But what I liked best about Sinnerman, was delving into the mind of a serial killer, into why he kills and the figures in his life who helped shape him.

Bradshaw writes a great thriller, with likeable characters, and a taunt timeline that keeps you reading way past lights-out.

HASH(0x9df3e78c) out of 5 stars needs editing Sept. 16 2012

OK thriller. Author and publisher should use an editor (human being whose first language is English and can spell and understand context) instead of a spell checker. Examples: grizzly should be grisly, shutter should be shudder, pour should be pore. Yet there are obscure words used throughout to imply that the author is erudite. Unfortunately this lack of writing quality control is common in today's fiction - hence my 3 star rating instead of lower....

HASH(0x9df8db64) out of 5 stars Great Series! May 4 2013

I really enjoy this series. It contains just the right amount of suspense, twists and turns. Very likable characters. P.I. Sloane Monroe's twin sister was murdered 3 years ago and yet the case is still unsolved. The murderer has been called Sinnerman, and he is now back and leaving a trail of bodies, again.

Sloane's detective boyfriend tries to keep her safe, as she kicks things up a notch, trying to catch her sisters killer. I will certainly read more in this series. Although I know that I will stay up much too late reading into the night.

HASH(0x9de21da4) out of 5 stars Wow - where to start?!? March 5 2013

EDIT: At some point, someone suggested the title be changed from "Sinnerman" to "Murder in Mind." I have no idea why, but would just like to say it will, always and forever, be "Sinnerman" and one of the greatest murder mysteies I've ever read. No other title does it justice.

If Cheryl's latest Sloane Monroe novel, "Stranger in Town," and her first "Black Diamond Death," were incredible (and they were, by the way) this one is a flat out barn-burner. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure if there's anything left of the barn (laughs)!

I could not turn pages fast enough and I literally had to force myself to put this down so as to make it last longer than two days. The characters are so well developed that you feel like you're reading a movie script at times. Cheryl, like another favorite author of mine, is an absolute master of the cliffhanger. She knows how to drop your jaw and this one's got plenty of those moments in it. I love the lead characters; for my money Sloane is as good as Alex Cross ever thought about being, and her partner Maddie is a hoot. The other thing I loved about it is that it's such a personal story in the development of Sloane's life and I feel like Cheryl really opened herself up to , and connected with, he character in a way that is hard to describe. Maybe it is best left to the fact that every element of the story feels HONEST, not forced or contrived. It is a marvelous mystery / thriller and really should not be missed.

HASH(0x9de21e58) out of 5 stars Suspenseful and Thrilling 10 Stars for Cheryl Bradshaw Oct. 9 2011

Only once in a while do you come upon a Novel that sweeps you literally off your feet. The potboiling tension in this story is out of this world. I was taken to that place where few readers go, on a euphoric high like releasing endorphins after running a certain distance as they kick in to your brain. This book will do the same for you. It will put you in seventh heaven and have you begging for more. More. Cheryl Bradshaw can write like the pros did at the Turn of the 20th Century. This is an Instant Classic. I will frame this book in my den in plain sight to remind me of where to go to bring back this sensation. What a read. Absolutely sensational indisputably.
