Product Description

** There are NO CLIFFHANGERS in any of the Fighting Fate novels **

After a life altering tragedy during her childhood, Mia Campbell is left with an incapacitating fear of crowds - especially angry ones. Now at eighteen, with her final months of high school before her, she only has one goal: To remain unseen…

Jace Wallace is about to start living a rockstar's life. As lead guitarist for the newest internet sensation, Fighting Fate, he's rocking the stage - and a different girl - every weekend, and that's the way he prefers it. With the band's popularity about to explode to new heights, he doesn't have time for complications. Or commitments. He only has one goal: To succeed...

The only thing standing in the way of achieving their goals? Each other.

When unusual circumstances bring the two of them together, and one thing quickly leads to another, Mia finds herself proposing an arrangement she never thought she'd ever consider. A no-strings-attached relationship. But when feelings start creeping in, and their one goal blurs to include another, they're both forced to make a decision.

Sit back and take what Fate hands you, or fight for what you want.

** Please Note: this book contains sexual content and the kind of language you would expect from up and coming teenage rock stars.

First time reading this author, and I was pleasantly pleased.

It is an enjoyable, angsty, sweet love story.....about a girl that suffered a very traumatic event as a child and a boy that it is about to hit the big time, with his rock band. The over-baring protective twin brother. There were the typical nasty girls... which I am very GLAD that I never had these types of girls around when I was in high school, or I wouldn't have graduated!!! lol geeez.

The 3 stars, well.... it is a young love story, so, its hard to get above that really. Minor errors but they aren't horrible and don't distract from the story.

Tears and Smiles.

I am intrigued enough by this author, that I will continue to read her. Looking forward to the next installment in this series!!

HASH(0x9e8580e4) out of 5 stars 3.5 stars. Sweet story. Could use more early character development May 13 2014

I liked this book. I was kind of surprised the characters were seniors in high school. It seemed like they should have been in college for the situations in the story.
It all starts in Aspen. The group is far from home, at someone's family's ski house--no "adults"--when there is an avalanche and Jace and Mia are snowed in together for a night. There, they finally "see" each other and connect in a way that they never have with anyone else. They agree to keep the relationship secret until Mia (who has serious PTSD from being caught in a riot with her dad as a 4yo) can cope with the idea of everyone knowing. Jace is an up and coming rock star and they are both afraid Mia won't be able to handle the crowds without having a panic attack.

But if they're still in h.s., why did no one call their parents to say they're ok after an AVALANCHE? It was a weird mix of adult situations and relationships (with some of the most RELAXED parents EVER) and kid situations that didn't quite fit for me. That's why I thought they should have been a smidge older.

But Mia and Jace were likable characters. The alternating POV worked well. I did think their early relationship, while CHOCK FULL of chemistry, didn't have a lot of communication--at least from what I remember. When they were falling for each other and I hadn't seen much real conversation, it seemed a bit forced. But I just decided that due to their mutual connection (her twin brother who is Jace's best friend), they had probably seen enough of each other over the preceding four years to know who they were. Sort of. Kind of thin, but, as I said, I let it go because I liked them. Other than that, there wasn't TOO much drama until the end and it was fairly predictable. But at least there was a happy ending and NO CLIFFHANGER.

I wanted to see more, an epilogue, maybe. There's a lot happening in the near future with them. There is another book coming out that's Kaeli's story (Mia's best friend). But it seems from what I've read, the plot has zero to do with Mia and Jace. Kind of a bummer. I thought the series would follow the band but it just seems to be following the friends.

Anyway, enjoyable, quick, easy read.
I'll probably read the next one.

It could have been so much better but there were a few issues. My main problem with the book was that the characters spoke like they were either British or Australian which would be totally fine except the story is supposed to be taking place in California. So that was irritating throughout the book. Also the storyline was cliche at times but it was somewhat enjoyable. I will say that because the series is named Finding Fate I assumed that the other books would be about the rest of the band but unfortunately that isn't the case. The next story is about kaeli and a undercover cop. This is disappointing. The band should be next. It keeps up the momentum from the first book. Oh well. It is worth the.99$

I was more than a little impressed by this author. I saw no reviews on this book and thought I'd give it a chance- I am glad I did. The h had a traumatic event happen to her when she was young that caused a fear of large groups. Her brother is in an up and coming rock group that is getting ready to sign. Throw in an avalanche and a man whore band mate that just so happens to notice the h when they are shut in together and you start a fantastic journey! I highly recommend you buy this! Great read and great price at.99.

I almost stopped reading this book when I realized the central characters were in HIGH SCHOOL! Sorry, but I am a woman of a certain age and I've had little interest in reading yet another book about Young Love. Muse was bit different though. First, I was intrigued by the book summary; Up and coming rock star with a girlfriend afraid of crowds...interesting. After reading a few pages I still wasn't convinced it was a story I would find interesting. I was wrong. I just kept reading and found it to be very entertaining.

There were a few things I didn't like. I've often said that in order to really enjoy a story, the reader has to really come to know the characters. They don't have to like them, but they have to know them. Unfortunately, I didn't get a real sense of who the characters were until at least halfway through the book. Mia's condition is a huge part of the story and I didn't feel it was fully explored. That said, Jace, Mia's love interest, also had very little back story.

Obviously, I came to care about the characters since I give the book a solid 4 Stars. However, what would have made it 5 Stars is a more in-depth look at what made these characters who they were. I think the greatest recommendation, is that I will indeed read the next book in the series. I enjoy the author's writing style and can see that as her stories progress, they just get better and better.
