HASH(0xa201f528) out of 5 stars Great Read-Aloud for Kindergarten Class Feb. 29 2016
By plainmaryjane - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Bought for my kindergarten classroom, this story is simple for me to read aloud and works as a great introduction to Harriet Tubman. It tends to be difficult to find books that introduce important people for Black History Month, and this is now one of my favorites! Allows for discussion on complex topics for little minds. Would be great to include in a class library for second grade (independent reading levels).

HASH(0xa201fed0) out of 5 stars Short Book Feb. 27 2016

It's a very, very short book; however, I'm grateful to have it as a tool to teach my six year old about our history. This is a very difficult topic to discuss. I would like a book that explains the underground railroad. The way this book reads, one would think there was a train and a conductor. Ha!

HASH(0xa2b68ed0) out of 5 stars Must read Jan. 4 2014

The modern day version of Moses. My 6 yr. old loved hearing about how many former slaves Harriett Tubman helped. to free. Even though she. Faced dangerous conditions, she still went back to help her family and others.
