"As a certified parenting coach for parents of LGBTQ kids I looked forward to reviewing this journal. Parents go through a lot of feelings and questions when their child comes out and I know that writing can be healing. I loved it! It is a wonderful resource for parents filled with insightful guided writing prompts. It walks them through many of the questions, issues and unique experiences they have as the parent of an LGBTQ child and provides a safe place for them to explore their own parenting journey in a private and personal way. The inclusion of inspirational quotes and colorable images sprinkled throughout make this parenting journal all that more therapeutic and uplifting." Susan Berland (Susan Hope Berland - Certified Parenting Coach)
About the Author
Award-winning author, Cheryl B. Evans is a passionate ally of the LGBTQ+ community. She became a writer out of a desire to make a difference in a world that seems to do more judging than embracing. Knowing that her books have helped people, strengthened families and encouraged people to think differently is what drives her to continue writing. Her love and compassion for all people shine through the pages of her books which readers often say are honest and heartfelt. Cheryl B. Evans' book which was a non-fiction memoir titled: I Promised Not to Tell, won a Bronze Medal in the 2017 Readers' Favorite International Book Awards. That memoir about raising a transgender child became the seed for a new book entitled What Does God Think?: Transgender People and The Bible which was published in the fall of 2017. This new Christian book delves deeper into the science of gender dysphoria and discusses Biblical Scripture that helps answer the question: What does God think about transgender people. Evan's learned how helpful journaling can be during her own parenting journey with an LGBT child. She is excited to now offer other parents an interactive journal so they too can get enjoyment from journaling. Not just another journal to write in, but something that speaks specifically to parenting with a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer child. Evans also wrote a journal for transgender individuals, perfect for pre-teens, teens and youthful trans adults. It's titled: Wonderfully and Purposely Made: I Am Enough - A journal all about me.
