HASH(0x9a35cfcc) out of 5 stars Another Great Bargain from Nicholson Feb. 4 2011
By Bookhound - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I love that Nicholson's bundling similar-genre books together and offering them for a low price. MYSTERY DANCE includes some of Nicholson's best crime and suspense novels. DISINTEGRATION is probably his most polarizing book. Dark and emotion-packed, this one includes some of his best writing, in my opinion. THE SKULL RING is a psychological thriller that kept me turning the pages late into the night. And CRIME BEAT is one of Nicholson's newer releases. It takes the reader behind the scenes for a look at a small-town newspaper, and things get very interesting when a crime spree breaks out and there appears to be a serial killer on the loose.

Nicholson was known as a "horror" writer, but with these stories he demonstrates that he's a versatile writer and one to be reckoned with in the crime and suspense genres. At times you'll find Nicholson's witty humor in these tales, and at other times you'll be guessing who done it. If you want to read some great writing that'll draw an emotional response from you, make sure you check out this omnibus edition for less than the price of a mass-market paperback.

HASH(0x9a35e03c) out of 5 stars Quite good Feb. 22 2012

I started reading Scott with Liquid Fear. It was an amazing read with great twists and character development. I read the sequel. I found the same positives and an even better story. Could it continue to his other works?

Simple answer. Yes.

What made me fall in love with Scott's writing is found here. I enjoy books with deep characters, and these three books don't disappoint! The stories are well written and are easy to read.

Crime Beat is my favorite, followed closely by Disintegration and the Skull Ring. All three books are worth easily full paperback price. Great deal by a great author. Try him. You won't regret it.

HASH(0x9a35e474) out of 5 stars Nicholson making it easy! Feb. 21 2012

I am a huge Scott Nicholson fan! In this bundle you get three great books for the price of one! This set will make you a long time fan. I read Disintigration last year and have been following Scott ever since.

Disinigration will keep you swing all the wy to the very end. I was never quite sure where Scott was going to end up and I o love a good surprise! The Skull Ring was super creepy! Crime beat was also a great read!

Nicholson has very descriptive, fully developed characters that will stay with you even as you read the last words of the stories!

HASH(0x9a35e834) out of 5 stars You Can't Go Wrong with Nicolson Feb. 22 2012
By K. Gardner - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
My first introduction to Scott Nicholson was "As I Die Lying" - a psychological thriller that I was neither able to sleep or put down until I finished it. I believe I have nearly everything he has written now, and will continue to collect everything he writes.

When I read "The Skull Ring", I actually got up and made sure all the doors and windows were locked and looked in my closets. I never do that. But he has a way of writing that seeps inside those dark crevices of your mind, making you believe that even the impossible is possible, and is probably going to happen to you.

"Disintegration", well, easily one of the most disturbing books I've read. So disturbing you want to stop reading, but you can't. In that way, it reminded me of "As I Die Lying". The prose in this book is haunting and beautiful, with metaphors and descriptors that are both astonishing and uniquely creative.

"Crime Beat" is an entertaining novella (short story) about a reporter in a small mountain town, which is both enjoyable and easy to read.

To bundle these together and to be able to get them for free or at such a small price is a deal no one should pass up. Hours and hours of entertainment, and possibly a few nightmares, for one low price !

HASH(0x9a35e918) out of 5 stars Not bad, but not great May 14 2012

I am surprised by all the rave reviews for these books. They are compelling page turners but often their are little pieces of the stories that don't make sense. I noticed this specifically in Disintegration. I would say that the story plots are not well written. The endings are a let down or are quite farfetched. Still an interesting page turned so possibly worth borrowing through the kindle library. I don't know if I would pay more than $.99 for these though.
