HASH(0xb6ac9ce4) out of 5 stars Educational and Fun April 12 2010

I purchased this book after I bought another book in this great series. This book is all about the Greek goddesses. It's funny and educational. I am a teacher and bought it as a suplimental tool to help my students and they loved it. It is educational, entertaining and filled with pictures. It's a great book! I am glad that I have the entire series and it is still being read by my students, long after we finished Greek mythology. It is also a great companion to the Percy Jackson books!

HASH(0xb6accdec) out of 5 stars A lot of information in a carefully condensed format. Well done! Aug. 16 2010

I can't possibly write a good enough review for this book because there are so many fantastic things about it, I can't do it justice. Let's just say that it is the best quick-reference guide for mythology (although this one is about females) that I've ever used. It's not just great for kids. I'm a strong visual learner, and this book just makes it so easy for me to quickly gather facts and puts them visually in a context that I can remember them, too (which is usually hard for me). The comics, the format, the "friends" and "foes" Facebook-style sidebar, the top 10 things to know about each goddess...I could go on and on...it's perfect. And it's FUNNY. Hera's Big Journal of Revenge--hilarious! Dial-a-Muse--ingenious! First Annual Mount Olympus Beauty Contest--gold! Family Tree--way to go! I love the tongue-in-cheek touched-up photos of greek pictures and statues. The names are consistent (Greek--including "Heracles"--it's about time), and they even give the Roman equivalent. There are even URL suggestions for further information. I highly recommend this book, for friends, kids, and libraries.

HASH(0xb6e21b58) out of 5 stars She's A Myth To Me July 14 2014
By A. Lynn Bowman - Published on Amazon.com

I bought three titles from this series for my 12 year old Granddaughter as a Christmas present and she loves them. She reads them over and over, checks the facts from one book to the others and has spent many hours reading and skimming them. I looked through a couple just to see what they were like and was please at the content and style.
HASH(0xb6accfb4) out of 5 stars so I thought this might be good for a "growing up" transitional topic April 22 2015
By HBP - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 9-year-old niece, who loves to read (and has a book of science facts that she quotes, so I figured this might pique her interest). She's also growing out of the princess obsession, so I thought this might be good for a "growing up" transitional topic. She didn't seem that thrilled with it when she opened it, so I figured it was a bust. I saw her again a few months later, and she brought up the book and how much she loves it! She told me a bunch of stories about the goddesses she read about. She wants the other ones in the series!
HASH(0xb6e26b4c) out of 5 stars Love this series April 29 2014

Sadly this one came slightly damaged (cover was folded a tad with a small rip) but otherwise I LOVE this series! My young godson (8) loves mythology and this is the perfect edition for small children. Fun and still fun of plenty of facts!
