Product Description
Having received dozens of awards and recommendations from international hardware websites and magazines, the NF-A12x15 has established itself as a default choice when it comes to premium-quality slim 120mm fans. The chromax.black.swap edition combines the NF-A12x15’s signature quiet cooling performance with an attractive all-black design and a bundle of self-adhesive red, white, blue, green, yellow and black anti-vibration pads that allow the colour-customisation of the fan to match individual build colour schemes. Topped off with Noctua’s trusted premium-grade SSO2 bearing and more than 150,000 hours MTTF, the NF-12x15 PWM chromax.black.swap is the perfect choice for all users who value individual, focused build aesthetics just as much as class-leading quality and performance.
15mm slim design
Having a thickness of only 15mm, the NF-A12x15 is much slimmer than standard 120x25mm fans. This makes it ideal for typical slim fan applications such as low-profile CPU coolers as well as for freeing up space by replacing standard 120x25mm fans on tower coolers, radiators or in PC cases.

Self-adhesive anti-vibration pads in 6 coloursThe NF-A12x15 PWM chromax.black.swap comes with 8 swappable, self-adhesive anti-vibration pads in black, white, red, blue, green and yellow respectively, which allow the fan to be fully colour-customised in order to coordinate it with other components or popular build schemes. |
SSO2 BearingThe NF-A12x15 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability. |
Metal-reinforced motor hubWith many larger-diameter slim fan designs, the shorter axis and bearing lead to a reduced running stability and lifespan. The NF-A12x15 uses a metal-reinforced motor hub, a measure typically found in high-speed industrial fans, in order to ensure Noctua’s signature stability and longevity. |
Optional coloured cablesNoctua’s chromax line fans use a modular cabling system and come pre-fitted with a fully sleeved black NA-EC1 30cm cable. For refined colour coordination, white, red, blue, green and yellow 30cm NA-EC1 cables plus corresponding NA-YC1 y-cables are available separately. |
Maximising colour choices, the NF-A12x15 chromax.black.swap fan can be colour-customised using the included self-adhesive anti-vibration pads as well as optional coloured cables. This makes it ideal for enthusiasts looking for a true premium-grade fan that can be colour-coordinated with popular build themes such as all black, black & white or black & red.

For MITX builds, this fan is a godsend. Replacing all fans in my case with chromax 15mm Noctua fans.
Quiet & 15mm thin, & make my cpu cool down 5 to 10c temperature different! (40c down to 32c), fan only keep run around 1000rpm when play FPS games , really good quality ! Nice

Update 3/9/21: The used fan I received when there was no stock available is now making an anoying ticking sound when mounted vertically... Really disappointing for price paid for Noctua quality. Lowered review from 4/5 to 2/5

Well worth the price!!

However, the total package here is inferior to the standard brown version, despite costing more. The brown version includes a 20cm cable length + 30cm extension, low noise adapter, Y splitter cable, rubber mounting pads, and a silicone mounting option.
This chromax.black version is a 1cm cable with the 30cm extension, rubber pads in a variety of colors, and none of the other accessories. Noctua support told me it's more expensive due to the black coloring and the inclusion of the pads in 6 colors. I'd personally rather have other accessories.
The 1cm cable is a problem because it's about 1cm of cable with a plastic connector on the end. It's so short that you'll 100% need to use the extension cable for it to reach your motherboard. Which results in a "wart" right next to your fan. And you're conceivably buying a slim fan because space is an issue, which makes this bulky connector difficult to work around.
