Unfortunately, it also has the same static-filled sound that the neighbourhood party line used to have. It's unnerving to, on the one hand, be certain that it's just you and the handset with your cellphone, but then hear that crackle and wonder if Mrs. Jones didn't just come in the line to listen in to what you had to say.
Once in a while, you can find the sweet spot by rotating the jack in the port where the crackling subsides. Or perhaps I've just perfected sitting stone-still while using the handset.
Bottom line, I love keeping my phone away from my head when this unit works, but it doesn't work consistently well enough to warrant using it.
