Natsume is a must readReviewed in the United Kingdom on October 3, 2014
Natsume's Book of Friends is a fantastic series and is one that should be read by anyone who wants to read a seriously good series! The art is beautiful and compliments the story and concept very well. Natsume is one of the best Manga characters I have ever read about and you feel very attached to him throughout the series. The story is full of heartwarming and heartbreaking elements and you really feel for all of the characters involved, which is often rare in Manga but Yuki Midorikawa has perfected this and it works continuously. Natsume is one of my favourite Manga's, in fact pieces of Literature that I have ever read.

This series is great. The story is touching and very inspiring. Not only you have fun, you also learn a lot about Japanese mythology. If you're interested in this subject, you'll like it.

Natsume 14Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2014
Another great volume! This explores Natsume's efforts to keep the two worlds of Humans and Yokai separate. He also attempts to learn more about Reiko, his grandmother. He continues to give back the names of the Yokai that Reiko collected in the Book of Friends. I would be interested in learning why Reiko went to all the trouble to collect the names in the first place. Did she have foreknowledge that her grandson would need something to help him cope with the conflicting worlds of Humans and Yokai? Something to look forward to in future volumes!
Love this seriesReviewed in the United States on July 25, 2013
I have been following this series for a few years. First with the anime and now with the manga. I am very happy with the stories and the feelings the stories evoke from me while reading. I love Natsume and it's great to see his development from when he was younger. I also love the support he gets from his friends, especially Tanuma. Although I would like to see Natsume trust Tanuma a bit more, I can see that their relationship is headed that way.
