I don't believe that Jane Roberts unaided could have written this book, and I don't believe that any ordinary person could dictate such dense and well-informed text...and yet I accept that the published text was dictated as stated.
Three months after reading this book, I was compelled to reread it. Then the flood gates really opened because I started to fully comprehend how many limiting beliefs I had that were keeping me from being happy in so many areas of my life. We are spoonfed beliefs from the minute we come out of the womb until we are wise enough to choose what we will or will not accept as fact. People say something and if you don't seriously think about it, and choose to reject it, chances are it will end up rolling through your thoughts some day along with all the other things you've hear over the years. And these things, these beliefs, they guide us in all our desicions. They are behind some of our most distressing 'failures' -- whatever they may be.
We've all heard them, but we never stop and think of what happens when they register... The world is not safe. Money doesn't grow on trees. The economy is bad. These are hard times. People can't be trusted. Everyone is out for themselves. Money is the root of all evil.
Once you realize that everyone of those statement along with every other statement you've got circling your brain is a LIMITING belief, which you will by the end of this book, you will have the power to change what you believe and ultimately alter your future in amazing ways. This book is life changing. The impact of it really didn't even register with me until three months after I read it. Now, I laugh at how many limiting and NEGATIVE beliefs I hear during the course of a day as I decline to accept each and every one of them. I actually counted over 200 in one day. And I stopped because it was getting hard to keep track of them.Read more ›
I've been practicing Zen Buddhism for the past 5 years, and everything in this book resonates with the direct experience I've had of all-that-is in deep meditation. I think anyone with a spiritual background could supplement their understanding of "God" or what have you by reading this book.
I desperately want to give this book to everyone I know--but I understand that the whole "channeling thing" makes people raise their eyebrows. It's too bad about that, and too bad that this book is shelved in the "New Age" section, since "New Age" has become some kind of joke. Maybe that's part of the reason that NPR hasn't been siezed on by the scientific community, philosophers, and the medical establishment--all of which could benefit immensely from reading the material. It's revolutionary on all those fronts, and more.
This book, paragraph by paragraph, concept by incredible concept, just makes such exquisite sense. And by "sense" I mean intellectual sense, spiritual sense, and intuitive sense. You read it, and you feel the truth of it in your body, in your--dare I say?--soul.
Why isn't "The Nature of Personal Reality" required reading for everyone on the planet? I have no doubt we could create a different world with the information in it. In fact, we need it now more than ever.
