This is a great little book to have some fun with and learn the language from a completely different (yet memorable) angle, especially if you have a group of you reading it. One thing I should note is that it doesn't come with a pronunciation guide (like many other auxiliary materials out there) so you'll have to rely on external resources to help you out. As for the format, the book is divided into sections and then gives you a list of words that pertain to said section (with translations) and then proceeds to give examples and idioms. It it not terribly thorough nor a large collection, like you would expect from a dictionary or grammar book, but then again, this is not a super serious book. I would refrain from calling this a reference book, but let's just say this refreshing little twist of literature provides some much needed comic relief in the gaelic section of my library.
