About the Author

Recognized internationally as one of Canada’s top diversity trainers and innovative leaders in immigrant integration programming, Barbara is President of Diversity ERAA Training. She has delivered workshops, keynote presentations and consultation services to over 23,000 participants within 112 organizations across Canada and internationally. Barbara envisioned and created Canada's first post-secondary institution's diversity and immigrant student support department at Red River College, initiated and implemented the first Certificate program in Canada to train certified intercultural trainers, established the first Centre for Immigrant and International Students at a Canadian college, started the first mentor program for immigrants and international students in Canada, and developed the Canadian Immigrant Integration Program’s (CIIP) pre-arrival orientation workshops for skilled immigrants coming to Canada from over 25 countries. She is the author of sixteen publications on diversity management, immigrant integration and integrating immigrant and international students into a Canadian academic environment. She has worked in Nigeria, India, China, the Philippines and the UK.
