Their trash talk tends to be more scatological and profane than previous NR heros. Lots of brotherly banter regaining their private parts and sex lives goes on while they wield their skill saws and hammers. Actually I found them a little boring and their fascination with action figures and video games would likely keep them out of my fantasy bedroom but the theme "boys and their toys, gotta love 'em" runs through this book and likely will continue through the series.
There is a ghost which is fun, and a marvelous old inn where the guest bedrooms are named after romantic couples from literature (one is the Eve and Roarke Room, a little private advertising from Nora Roberts/J.D.Robb.) I still don't know who Wenzell and Buttercup are but I suspect that is a cultural gap and my own fault.
I was impressed with the detail in the book about construction and renovation. I had to go online to find out what a coffered ceiling is.Read more ›
Clare is a widow that owns a bookstore across from the Inn that the Montgomery brothers are doing a renovation on with the help of their Mom.
Beckett is one of the brothers who has been sweet on Clare since high school. He watched her drive away with her husband and kept his feelings hidden from her. Now, Clare is back with three boys to raise and a business to worry about.
Do they have time for each other? Drawn through chemistry and with the help of the Inn's ghost this romance is sweet and full of small town quirks. These two see survive a dangerous moment with an obsessive client and come through committed to each other. Clare's sons are the comedic relief in a world that Clare and Beckett build a foundation in.
Great book! Great heartwarming read!
I fell in love with the brothers and all the work and sweat they put into the building, and their love. The creep is a nice touch, just want to nail him yourself, he is such a jerk, and hits women. No more or you won't need to read it. Its a terrific read, and the second one I just started seems to be the same, can't wait. Enjoy :)

I look forward to Nora Roberts' trilogies. I often am disappointed after a single story by an author and am left wondering what happened to the other characters. Read morePublished on Feb. 21 2014 by Lin Jarvis
Nora Roberts is a great writer for Sunday in the sun on the deck! I am sure a cozy chair by the fire would be good too!Published on Sept. 23 2013 by CITY GIRL
These books are so phony, if they weren't so bad you could laugh! It must be nice for one family to own a whole town!Published on March 19 2013 by Jane
