Five teenage friends living on one street all dream of a sinister man with a disfigured face, a frightening voice and a gardener's glove with knives for fingers. One by one, he terrorizes them within their dreams--where the rules are his and the only way out is to wake up. But when one among them dies, they soon realize that what happens in their dreams happens for real and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. Buried in their past is a debt that has just come due. To save themselves, they must plunge into the mind of the most twisted nightmare of all: Freddy Krueger. Jackie Earle Haley plays the legendary evildoer in this contemporary reimagining of the seminal horror classic.

Now years later, we see a remake to A Nightmare on Elm Street movie and this movie was disappointing. A COMPLETE FAILURE. There was no reason for a remake and it was nothing like the original. Why settle for an imitator when you can have the original film. This film is one of the worst horror movies in years with a chessy storyline and nothing like the original innovative fim. Without Psycho and Halloween, Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street wouldn't have been possible.
Robert Englund was Freddy and Heather Langenkamp was Nancy. The remake fails to deliver on so many fronts. SKIP THIS REMAKE AND SEE THE ORIGINAL FILM.
First off, Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger did not
work for me completely. His voice was perfect for the
part, but he's about a foot to short to look menacing.
In the special features it is said by the director
(I think, not sure) that the original series did not
clarify why Krueger was torched by the parents. Well
he or whoever said it really needs to watch the series.
The retelling of the story was o.k. and the effects were
fine, but Haley as Krueger made it a bit of a letdown.
I liked Haley better in the t.v. series "Human Target".
If you haven't seen any of the horror remakes and are
trying to decide which one you would like to see, you
would be better off watching "Halloween" the first part
or "Friday The 13TH".
I am glad i waited and only paid 79 cents for this
remake. But feel bad for those who paid the full
new release price.
It was not better than the original.
would buy again no problem
HIGHLY RECOMENED ! MUST SEE
