It has three tiers of blades, & so you never get anything stuck up at the top like in older style blenders, it all get powered down to the bottom & blended well. Safety features are also great. The top lid locks into place & it's almost impossible to run the blender without it on. An older child could probably figure out how to do it, but there's zero chances of toddlers or young children hurting themselves on this product. Very well designed.
Back to my banana ice cream- WOW, I seriously have the hardest time blending my frozen bananas and I continuously have to stop it, use a spatula and push all the contents down into the blades. It's just so damn exhausting. I'm keeping it because I figure I can make other STUFF (don't know what that will be yet). But for right now it's making my kitchen look super fancy!
I can tell everyone that this blender is $88. The Blendtec is $200 and the Vitamix is around $400.
When I compare this blender to the cheap Canadian Tire brand we had for years,,,,this thing is a beast. we put ice, frozen bananas, milk, peanut butter and frozen strawberries into this and start it up. It is able to consistently blend all that hard frozen fruit and ice up and basically make almost a runny ice cream. My old blender cannot do that.
Clean up is really easy. On reviews people complain about putting the container on the machine and getting the lid off but really....once you figure out how to do it ....it's easy and not a big deal.
I think if you are looking for top of the line, consider Blendtec or Vitamix. If you are looking for an under $100 blender, go with this one.
I gave it a 5 because there are better blenders but I'm not prepared to pay $400 for one....so for $100 I think it's a 5'er lol
