Nisekoi, Vol. 13 starts off at the festival. All the girls are wearing their kimonos, but Haru, Kosaki's little sister, has gotten separated from the rest. Fortunately, she finds Raku, but unfortunately, he's lost, too. They spend much of the festival together before finally bumping into the others. Haru finds out that Raku really is the boy she's in love with, but unfortunately, her sister is in love with him, too. Haru gives Raku the most mixed of signals. Then Paula is back into the picture, where she eats a love drug. Fortunately, the person she falls in love with is not Raku.

The message, like always, is that if you're a really nice guy, every girl in school will fall in love with you. Everyone's in love with Raku in this harem romance manga. Reading Nisekoi is like eating junk food. You know you should be consuming something better, but you just can't help it. I know that the series doesn't pick up until Vol. 15 or so, and a lot of people have said you can skip some of these volumes, but this one I wouldn't skip. It's good, the stories are neat, and although the characters and situations don't develop much, the volume provides depth to the characters. ****1/2
