This tortilla press works very well. I'll take a guess that the person who gave it a one-star rating didn't know that you have to use plastic wrap or parchment paper (or something like that) to cover the dough when using this. If you don't the dough will stick and all you'll get will be a mess. What you do is: open the press, put one small square of wrap/paper down, place a ball of dough on that and place the second small square of wrap/paper overtop. Close the press to make the tortilla shape then (carefully) roll off the top layer, pick up the bottom paper with tortilla, place the dough side down in your hand and roll off the top piece. You'll get the hang of it either right away or in a couple tries. The dough can be re-used if you mess up. The plastic wrap/parchment paper can also be reused.

If you make your own tortillas this is for you. I have arthritis and find this a gem when making tortillas and also use for pastry between parchment paper for tarts. It is so well made, it is still in perfect condition after a few years of use on a regular basis.

The press is very easy to use, but I found that the corn tortillas weren't as thin as I would have liked. I used a rolling pin to flatten them a little more after they came out of the press.

Overall, I'm satisfied. I've tried making tortillas by hand before, but I can't roll dough into a circle to save my life.

The product is as described, however, we find it too light weight and somewhat "loose" making it difficult to press the flour..... it's not terrible but I would not recommend the product. The seller was good though, it came fast and was packaged correctly.

This was my first tortilla press. A friend suggested using plastic instead of parchment paper and it worked very well. Unless you're a professional chef with a need for a fancier press, this one is good enough for the home.

I bought this for my husband who loves to make fresh tortillas. There was a bit of a learning curve and we found that the ol' ziplock-freezer-bag-split-open trick doesn't quite work as well as when using just a rolling pin. Wax paper seems to work a little better as a liner. Otherwise, it flattened the dough down evenly and in a perfect circle. I'd like the tortillas to be slightly thinner, but I'm not complaining. They still taste fantastic.

This works great! Before buying this press I would try and roll them out and it didn't work too well. This is easy and very simply to use. I definitely recommend adding plastic wrap to the top and bottom so that when you squish the tortilla it does not stick to the aluminium, but rather easily peels off the plastic wrap.

it is very cheap, and I have to finish them with a rolling pin, but it really helps give the round shape thatt is hard to get with just a roller!

people have mentioned that they stick, just use flour, dust it on the tortilla press, and it won't stick
