New addition: I have brought it closer and now it works very well.
Piss poor signal to noise ratio from one floor up and 15 away.
Reverted back to the old discontinued model which still has interference and electrical noise problem but still far better than this unit.
Bought used but hard to tell from original packaging..
I tested another remote control (i.e. TV) and it works (ex: TV on/off). I also checked the IR LED signal of the Nyrius remote extender with a smartphone camera (yes, you can see the remote IR LED) and I noticed that the Nyrius IR LED does not emit a very strong signal (ex: TV) making it practically unusable.
