Oculus Rift + Oculus Touch Bundle

Didn't buy through Amazon but, a tremendous product. I was patient myself and waited for the consumer version to finally be released and it really is incredible. With it being a much more pixel dense resolution than PS VR even my friends were "wow'ed" by not only the image and its quality but the quality of the head set and controllers as well. (though they are a whole different monster, more in those later) due to it being so pixel dense, the "screen door effect" is no longer present thus eliminating an effect that can cause motion stickiness for some. The low- latency head tracking is so smooth that it its completely dismissed from being any kind of issue. With adjustable lenses it allows for a customized fit in terms of lens spacing. With the light- weight design being a key component over the HTC Vive the fully adjustable head straps fit anyone's head with ease. Though the cables can be somewhat cumbersome during play in a room scale environment, a little cable management takes care of that.
On to the biggest selling point of this product, the controllers. The Oculus Touch are really something incredible, with gesture based controls one can point and give a "thumbs-up" among many other things. The controllers fit extremely comfortably in your heads, and with the key addition of a "grip" button it often feels like you are actually grabbing the object with your hands creating an immensely immersive experience.
Overall a truly incredible product with limitless potential.

So fun, I prefer this VR headset over the HTC Vive. The screen is much sharper and clearer, also, the headset is lighter and so beautiful. I would like to mention, that this is the ideal VR headset for people with limited space, and it was super easy to set up, Love it...

The Oculus Rift with Oculus Touch controllers is my favorite of all the VR systems I have purchased so far. I have the Samsung Gear VR, PlayStation VR, and HTC Vive and once I purchased a third camera the Rift has held my preference the most. However, every VR system has its pros and cons and the Oculus Rift might not be the best fit for your situation. Regardless of the system, they are all absolutely worth it.

The Oculus feels like the most polished VR system and is the easiest to jump in and out of from player to player as the controllers naturally fit into the correct hands and all three adjustment straps are easily accessible. Plus the on-the-ear headphones are built onto the headset so it is all in one when changing players. The Oculus Touch controllers fit perfectly in your hands, are lightweight, and the touch response adds extra immersion. Oculus Home is just like it is on the Samsung Gear VR, so if you have tried that it will feel familiar, however they are separate stores. Oculus Home makes browsing and going between games simple and effective making it easy for beginners.

There is a good selection of free material in the Oculus store, though I wish they had additional search/sorting features, such as price sorting or removing items that I already have installed. There are some great purchase titles as well, however, you are not limited to the Oculus store and have a huge selection of games and applications now compatible through Steam. Not all games in Steam VR are compatible with Oculus Rift, or they are room-scale to a point that the Rift can’t reach, but many of them are capable.

This is the first generation of this style of VR and there is plenty of room for improvement. Some things I don’t like compared to the other systems are not necessarily something that would prevent me from recommending the Rift, just little quirks in comparison to the other major VR providers.

The biggest issue I have is in order to have a full 360° room-scale experience a third camera is highly recommended. Without the third camera there are certain angles that the controllers may bug out causing issues in game if not just being pure frustrating. The third camera from Oculus comes with a 15ft USB extension cable which forces the USB port down to USB 2.0, the recommended port anyways. This also requires some fine tuning of the camera positions as they are limited in viewing angle and distance so you can’t get the large scale of the HTC Vive. The angles also end up limiting how high or low you can reach in your environment.

The precise placement of the cameras, their short USB cables and the 4m length of the headset cable keep your room-scale play space kind of small, but capable. This also makes it a bit more difficult to move from one location to another, such as taking it over to a friend’s house as their spaces may not be capable of holding a camera in the needed locations. Plus, another nuisance is that when you run the room setup, you have to go through the whole process, controller instructions and all.

Overall, I enjoy the Rift most at my house as I have the cameras fine-tuned and the controllers just make me feel even more immersed when I see hands moving the way they actually are, finger pointing and all. I can only imagine where this will take us in the near future.

I didn't know what to expect because the last time I tried out VR it was an early version of the Oculus and a early Vive helmet. This is much improved over the early days. Will you get motion sickness with VR? I compare it to the motion sickness you get while reading a book in a moving car. When you are moving in the game and your eyes see it but your body doesn't feel it you get that same sick feeling. Worth it though for how amazing everything looks. The latest games are the ones that really show you why VR is the future of entertainment but I am not sure how they will be able to solve the motion sickness unless you can be in a harness that moves when you move in the game.

Overall this is great entertainment for $400. The controllers work really well and I cannot believe how they bring you into the game. Nothing cooler than looking at your arms in the game, moving your arms in the real world and have those same arms move in the game but instead of your arms they are the arms of a robot that you are playing as!

Impressive bit of tech! Great fun for friends and family to try also. I've never seen the price this low. Flying around in space, dungeon crawling, peering around corners, piloting a plane, can't get over how awesome the experience is. The best quality of VR I've seen.
