Review

"Once in a very great while, an author does everything right--as Koontz has in this marvelous novel.... the story, like most great stories, runs on character--and here Koontz has created a hero whose honest, humble voice will resonate with many.... This is Koontz working at his pinnacle, providing terrific entertainment that deals seriously with some of the deepest themes of human existence: the nature of evil, the grip of fate and the power of love."--"Publishers Weekly"
"Dean Koontz almost occupies a genre of his own. He is a master at building suspense and holding the reader spellbound."--"Richmond Times-Dispatch"
"Dean Koontz is not just a master of our darkest dreams, but also a literary juggler."--"The Times" (London)
"Once more Dean Koontz presents readers with a story and cast of characters guaranteed to entertain."--"Tulsa World"

"From the Hardcover edition."

I ordered this book thinking that somehow I missed hearing about a new Odd book. Koontz is my favourite authour and I have never been let down by anything he has ever written...that is...until this book. I did not know until I got the bill that it was a comic and when it finally did arrive I thought It was horrible. It was a reprint of the first book in the series with cartoon illistrations directed more at an audience who reads Archie comics, well, at least Archie comics are in colour. Kudos to the guy who did the illistrations, he is a good artist. But as an avid reader, I want a book to read...not to look at. Sorry to say, but I think this book was a total waste of money and did nothing for the real series. If someone makes a mistake and buys this first, they would probably be turned off of Koontz for life. I kind of feel like he sold out when he agreed to put his name to this. Sorry to those of you who like this type of thing. I certainly am not one of them.

I notice that this book says that it is a comic. When I purchased it I did not know that. It was okay reading but quite simple. I have read all of the ODD books and enjoyed them a lot so this one kind of disappointed me in the fact that it was in comic book form. Glad that now they let readers know.

This graphic novel joins the long list of Dean Koontz's totally enjoyable, superb works. I have never yet been disappointed by one of his novels. In point of fact, I buy his books without even looking at the synopsis. His name on it is enough for me to know that it is an excellent read.

It was the graphics (art?) of the novel that I did not like. Anime? Of a Koontz? It was like looking at a cartoon or reading a comic book. I felt it was very inappropriate. I have also purchased Koontz's other graphic novel - of the Frankenstein series. Now there is a graphic artist!!! I wish Mr. Koontz had decided to use him for his Odd one.

talk about disapointing and instantly taking me from a good mood thinking that the latest installment of the odd series has arrived in my mail box to a foul mood once I realized it was a comic book. I have no idea how mister knootz got talked into this one but I fired it unread into the garbage. I never thought for one second that I would have to check to see if its a novel or comic book, from now on I will question it before hand. what a waste of money and ordering things on line is to much of a pain to return.
