Price is very reasonably discounted (in the same ballpark as Amazon.com) -- and it doesn't need to be, considering anyone studying for the GMAT MUST purchase these books ($78.85 on GMAC's site: [...] These are the only official books available with real GMAT questions, and the 13th edition is the first one printed after Integrated Reasoning was added to the GMAT in 2012 (if you have an old edition, upgrade).
And kudos to those in the Amazon.ca warehouses. I put in my order Tuesday late afternoon using a free Amazon Prime trial (guaranteed delivery by Friday), and received my books Wednesday before 2pm. No procrastinating until the weekend!!
Definitely a great experience... Now, if only the prices of everything else could be matched to Amazon.com..... =)
These books are also good for reviewing some (but far from all) fundamentals. However, as you may know by now, the GMAT test requires more than just knowing the fundamentals: time management and applying the best strategies will be most important.
The Official guides are not very useful for learning the best strategies. They really are good for what they are: practicing the real questions. And for learning the best strategies, a good GMAT in-class program such as the one offered by Admit Master in Toronto would be invaluable for achieving a high score.
The book gets 5* for the quality of questions and for ordering the questions by the level of difficulty!

Study manual is what I expected - great for practice but not actually learning the material. Needed additional supports to learn the math concepts I did know or had forgotten. Read morePublished on July 28 2013 by Stephanie Russell
Not bad overall, I would recommend it for people who does not know where to start or begin studying. Good Luck.Published on June 21 2013 by Matthew Au
