Oh baby Go baby you can do anything be anything go anywhere- be strong :-)
The "nursery" category and title of the book distracted me from the age recommendation ("3 and up")... I'd figured it was a book for even younger toddlers. However, we have several "touch & feel" board books for the 3 & up group, thickly constructed, which have stood up quite well (some better than others) with the grandkids. But this book? Let's just say I wouldn't trust it in the hands of my 3 year/5month year old grandson (whom we affectionately call the "Master of Disaster" due to his aggressiveness with toys/books!) I give it actually "six stars" for the cuteness factor but, realistically, this is not a book to hand to a 3 year old... maybe if you're sitting right there with them and have quick reaction time! It has a couple of pull tabs, a wheel to spin, a shiny balloon and fuzzy-topped mountain to run fingers over, and a page that flips up. Again, it's darling, but unless you're willing to stand constant watch (and keep the book put up high when you're not), then the imprinted $10.99 price is quite hefty for such a small book.
We have another Seuss activity book called The Pop-Up Mice of Mr. Brice (age recommendation 3-7) that a not-too-rough 3 year old might be able to handle (not OUR 3 year old, though!) that you might take a peek at - more activities/pages than this book.
