Cute book but many flaps and pull downs that are too difficult for young children.

HASH(0xa7800180) out of 5 stars Gift my daughter April 8 2012

This book has special meaning to me. It will be a birthday gift to my young daughter who beat cancer and has faced many developmental delays because of aggressive treatment. I love that this book has many textures to stimulate the senses for a young child or a child with delays.
Oh baby Go baby you can do anything be anything go anywhere- be strong :-)

I read this book to my 7 month old every morning. He tends to grab at everything, but thankfully, the pages and everything about the book are very durable. We love it!

HASH(0xa773d9d8) out of 5 stars Average baby book Sept. 28 2010
By Erika Labit - Published on Amazon.com

Other touch and feel books are better - this one has very little story-substance, and the interactive parts are pretty lame. If you want a Dr. Seuss book geared for younger kids/babies, I recommend the adaptation of One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish (Wet Pet Dry Pet Your Pet My Pet). It's much better!

My 11mth old baby girl loved this book. Good to see Dr.Seuss doing a nursery collection with plenty for baby to touch and feel.
HASH(0xa7a47108) out of 5 stars Darling little book earns SIX stars for cuteness; unfortunately, it won't stand up to small hands Sept. 1 2015
By Grandma Zizzy - Published on Amazon.com

This abridged, "nursery" version of 1990's "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" was intriguing to me, having fallen in love with (and shedding quite a few sentimental tears over!) it while reading it to my oldest grandson on our last day together prior to his starting all-day kindergarten. (There are pluses and minuses to having an opportunity to babysit your grandchildren... 99% pluses, but when they go off into the "big world" of school... oh my, my my - it's that same mixed-feelings, gut-wrenching stuff you experienced when your own children left you!) But with two more grandsons now, I was looking for a cute book to include with the youngest's first birthday gifts - what sold me was the line "with Seussian stuff to pull, spin, and fluff!"

The "nursery" category and title of the book distracted me from the age recommendation ("3 and up")... I'd figured it was a book for even younger toddlers. However, we have several "touch & feel" board books for the 3 & up group, thickly constructed, which have stood up quite well (some better than others) with the grandkids. But this book? Let's just say I wouldn't trust it in the hands of my 3 year/5month year old grandson (whom we affectionately call the "Master of Disaster" due to his aggressiveness with toys/books!) I give it actually "six stars" for the cuteness factor but, realistically, this is not a book to hand to a 3 year old... maybe if you're sitting right there with them and have quick reaction time! It has a couple of pull tabs, a wheel to spin, a shiny balloon and fuzzy-topped mountain to run fingers over, and a page that flips up. Again, it's darling, but unless you're willing to stand constant watch (and keep the book put up high when you're not), then the imprinted $10.99 price is quite hefty for such a small book.

We have another Seuss activity book called The Pop-Up Mice of Mr. Brice (age recommendation 3-7) that a not-too-rough 3 year old might be able to handle (not OUR 3 year old, though!) that you might take a peek at - more activities/pages than this book.
